We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability and effective operation of our Quant/Enterprise Technology systems, particularly during core business hours. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to enhancing productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for production stability and problem resolution of the Quant/Enterprise Technology systems during core business hours
- Actively ensure the readiness and effective operation of production environments, including running routine maintenance on file, data store, and job control systems
- Engage in on-call rotations as required
- Investigate complex issues in production delivery, conduct root cause analysis, establish a resolution, and navigate it through the necessary steps
- Proactively identify and manage risks, promptly flagging major issues, and escalating incidents when necessary
- Drive results by prioritizing productivity, quality, and value for the client while maintaining honest, realistic, and committed partnerships
- Deploy patches and manage full stack deployments into production systems
- Conduct regular Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and continuously work on improving the process
- Take a proactive stance in proposing new technologies, tools, and approaches
- Suggest innovative solutions to business problems and processes that leverage technology for enhanced marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences

- Background in MS SQL and PowerShell basics
- Skills in troubleshooting complex issues and a strong aptitude for problem-solving
- Understanding of business domain, preferably in Finance
- Proficiency in working with RESTful services, SQL databases, and AMQP
- Competency in CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Control-M, Grafana, Octopus, and TeamCity
- Knowledge of monitoring tools including Grafana, Victoria Metrics, Solar Winds, and ElasticSearch
- Understanding of ITIL processes
- Demonstrated experience working in complex environments with multiple dependencies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with both technical teams and business users across all levels
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language coding skills and a solid grasp of coding principles
- Familiarity with creating, improving, supporting technology systems and releasing technical solutions in a Microsoft environment
- A strong foundation in PowerShell or C# programming languages
