Job Title/High-Level Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and driven Product Management professional to join a winning team working with market leading products in the orthopedic medical device industry!

A Product Manager is responsible for managing a specified group of products, portfolios, and/or technologies. This individual plays a significant marketing leadership role and is responsible for establishing a long-term global product strategy, developing, and executing corresponding annual marketing plans, and planning and coordinating the launch of new products while achieving revenue targets. The primary role of a Product Manager will be focused on the strategic growth and development within our "Upper Body" group. This group holds responsibility for Cryotherapy, Spine, Shoulder, and Upper Extremities.

Key Responsibilities:

The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.

Product and Program development

  • Acts as subject matter and product expert for assigned Upper Body portfolio
  • Identifies market problems, quantifies opportunities, and creates product and service strategies that achieve company revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Translates market problems and captured VOC into market requirements and business cases to be used as a roadmap during the product development process.
  • Manages upstream marketing activities for group such as ongoing assessment of new ideas, market research, marketing plan/buying process, product positioning and segmentation, pricing strategy, and financial valuations.
  • Ensures products meet market needs via management of rigorous pre-clinical and clinical validation activities.
  • Manages the development and successful execution of the tactical marketing plan for existing and new commercial products/programs for the product group including pricing, promotional strategy, advertising, KOL relationships and interactions, trade show exhibitions, field support and other marketing related activities.
  • Drives development of global annual marketing plans for products to achieve revenue targets.
  • Facilitates ongoing customer and field feedback mechanisms and use the information to make continuous improvements (e.g. regional input, product councils).
  • Manages commercialization of newly developed products by leading speed to market activities, developing marketing collateral and promotional strategies, engaging market activation as well as training the sales force
  • Utilizes MEX process to develop customer segmentation, messaging, and tactics to improve marketing effectiveness
  • Collaborates with management to establish strategic plans and objectives
  • Provides monthly product forecasts to operations to support inventory planning
  • Works cross-functionally with other business units to promote comprehensive continuum of care
  • Attends and supports industry events

  • Special projects, such as researching trends, developing reports, and other projects as required from time to time.

Education and Experience:

Education

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field preferred. MBA a plus.

Experience

  • 4+ years product management, marketing, or engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of Medical Device industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with new product introduction and lifecycle management

Competences

  • Demonstrated business acumen and critical/analytical thinking ability.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet given deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to understand and adapt to complex business processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with executing new product launches
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 35% of the time; both domestic and international travel is required.
  • Typical work-related travel assignments range 1-4 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.
