At its core, the goal of the FinOps Team is strategic cloud financial management that enables Estee Lauder Companies to get maximum business value by helping engineering, finance & business teams to collaborate on data-driven spending decisions.

In this role you will develop and lead an integral team that provides visibility, data analysis, financial analysis, reporting, and dashboards to help provide the needed visibility into the Cloud Portfolio. The role will create analytics and implement a body of reporting to enable visibility and transparency into the Cloud Portfolio to help proactively manage all aspects of our cloud usage and spend and enable and ensure clarity of storytelling in line with Cloud and Tech investments priorities. This will be accomplished through your leadership and drive of cloud Cost Governance across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master's degree or professional certification is a plus).
  • Extensive experience in financial operations with a focus on cloud services.
  • Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework and an understanding of what it means to reach "run" maturity.
  • Advanced knowledge of FinOps principles and practices.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud cost models, pricing structures, and optimization strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor and internal customer management skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial tools and systems relevant to cloud financial management.

Key roles and responsibilities
  1. Strategic Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting:
    • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization's cloud services objectives.
    • Drive financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for cloud initiatives.
    • Oversee the analysis of financial data related to cloud services, providing insights to support decision-making.
    • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to executive leadership.
  2. Cost Optimization:
    • Lead efforts to optimize cloud costs by identifying opportunities for efficiency and recommending cost-effective solutions.
    • Implement FinOps best practices to manage and control cloud expenditures.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with cloud operations.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
    • Foster collaboration to drive cost efficiencies and financial success in cloud operations.
    • Build and lead a high-performing FinOps team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development.
    • Establish and communicate clear goals and expectations for the team.
  4. Process Optimization:
    • Implement and enhance FinOps processes and frameworks to streamline financial workflows in the cloud environment.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  5. Innovation and Emerging Technologies:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in FinOps for cloud services.
    • Propose and implement innovative financial solutions to support the organization's cloud strategy.
