POSITION SUMMARY

The Interim SEO Manager is part of the Online COE function, reporting to the Director of Online Trading and Optimisation. They will be the owner and driver of SEO activity in the UK&I region, working with the corporate and brand teams to optimise SEO in order to increase organic traffic, conversion, and sales, as well as ensuring all technical implementations across the ELC websites have been optimised and adhere to technical SEO best practice. They will have technical SEO knowledge and understanding of website technologies such as coding & web development. They will also have broader SEO expertise, and be able to advise on keyword research, trends and mapping to ensure site content is optimised to the relevant hero categories and products for the brands. They will be an expert in SEO and be highly adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced matrix environment.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Continually evolve the SEO strategy for the UK region across all brand sites, while working closely with the Global counterparts
  • Create and execute plans to drive increase in organic traffic and sales coming from this channel
  • Identify trends and opportunities by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush
  • Keep abreast of broader industry advancements in this specialised topic, keep ahead of the curve
  • Advise the business on Google updates ensuring we are technically prepared and websites are set up for these
  • Manage and carry out regular technical audits across all brand sites to ensure they are continually optimized - including but not limited to broken links analysis, error pages, URL and site structure reviews. Create reports and actions.
  • Manage and produce regular reporting on keyword performance, ranking and organic traffic activity performance and results against core KPIs, along with recommendations on future strategy
  • Analyse impact of implementations, share insights and results with wider business
  • Own domain authority
  • Work with UK and Global DTX team ensuring SEO considerations are part of any new and future site and functionality launches
  • Monitor site speed performance across the ELC brands portfolio, work with engineering, UX/design and brand teams alike to ensure the content on the site is optimised
  • Work with Performance Marketing Teams and Agencies to drive the right balance between SEO and paid channels
  • Manage the creation of best practice playbooks, keyword glossary and tools training to be shared and used by the brand teams. Established processes for image and page optimisation
  • Be the primary point of contact between the global SEO and local teams to ensure technical updates and learnings are shared across the UK business
  • Advise on SEO best practice for new content creation and seasonal activities
  • Work with the brand communications teams to advise on link building and Google Q&A
  • Make recommendations for brands in relation to retailer.com and pureplays (where relevant)
  • Develop and support one direct report

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Proactive approach and experience in creating and executing an SEO strategy for the business
  • Ability to shape the SEO strategy to empower the brand teams to implement SEO changes on the brand sites
  • Strong SEO experience, working for multi branded, high traffic volume ecommerce sites
  • Proven-track record implementing and delivering strong results through SEO
  • Data driven decision-making, strong knowledge of web data utilising the full Google suite
  • Experience of working with engineering and development teams to implement technical SEO requirements
  • Proven external stakeholder management skills both at local and global level
  • Previous experience of using various SEO tools
  • Strong knowledge of ranking factors, Google algorithms, latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
  • Ability to turn insights into action plan, track and report of impact of change implementations
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate and present to audiences of different levels of seniority and understanding of SEO
  • Management experience of at least one direct report
