Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

Overview:
Senior Vendor Managers work closely with DDO leaders at all levels to develop and execute vendor strategies that align to their objectives and goals, helping to drive the firm long-term technology roadmaps. They build, implement, and maintain governance and overall relationship management strategies for the most strategic vendor relationships to enable successful delivery. This role serves as the main point of contact for leaders for all services and software needs required by strategic suppliers. They partner with Sourcing, Third Party Risk, Compliance, HR, Shared and Enabling Services, and Digital Product Operations (POMs) to execute their strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Execute on the firm's Digital, Data, and Operations vendor strategies through partnerships with strategic and major vendors.
  • Implement and Maintain vendor governance aligned and customized based upon vendor segmentation.
  • Manage the relationship and internal processes for vendors with spend exceeding $50M annually, working on complex initiatives that drive our five-year roadmap.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement through development, implementation, and communication of vendor performance metrics.
    • Hold their vendors accountable to established metrics.
    • Lead the performance management for strategic vendors across Digital, Data, and Operations, in partnership with key stakeholders through ongoing review of risks and issues, as well as conducting monthly business reviews.
    • Facilitate ad hoc discussions to take corrective action and discuss performance issues.
  • Partner with Sourcing to maximize value from our vendors by identifying and executing opportunities to establish contract terms that not only provide risk protections for Edward Jones, but generate economic benefit.
  • Facilitate the creation of new statements of work and other contracts, as well as facilitate the purchase order process for new and renewal business.
  • In partnership with the team, develops, shares, and implements appropriate centralized processes in support of all phases of the vendor life cycle, in partnership with Sourcing, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other Technology areas. These processes should be continuously improved, documented, and evolve with our strategy. They will coach stakeholders and other partners on these processes.
  • In some cases, the Senior Vendor Manager will be required to manage software vendor relationships. They will look across Edward Jones to understand business needs for new software and renewals, as well as partnering with Sourcing to negotiate the appropriate terms at renewal.

What Experience You'll Need

  • 10 years of experience in technology or financial services, with 5+ years of vendor management, procurement, or contract experience
  • Experience working with global vendors
  • Experience with managing SOW labor contracts and software contracts
  • Prefer understanding of financial services industry and regulatory environment
  • Data analytics and proficient in data tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with executive level audience

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
