Job Overview

Position Schedule: Home Office

We are looking for an experienced Income Tax Director to join our Tax Team. This role will lead a team responsible for:

  • Developing the vision, direction and strategy for the firm's federal, state and international tax compliance and tax provision.
  • Monitoring and evaluating individual, partnership and corporate tax developments.
  • Partnering with Business Development team on tax due diligence for M&A opportunities.
  • Collaborating with third party service providers to manage the firm's outsourced tax return compliance.
  • Researching and responding to tax controversy and planning matters as necessary.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from all parts of the firm to research and provide guidance on various tax issues as they arise.
  • Communicating with the firm's partners and/or executives on tax matters.
  • Leading strategic projects prioritized by the Finance Division.

This position will require knowledge of U.S. federal and state partnership tax principles; tax provision principles; strong organizational and research skills; strong collaboration and written communication skills; ability to engage and inspire a high-performing team; and strong time management and execution skills.

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program. Hiring Maximum: $232541

Skills/Requirements

  • 15 years of tax experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accountancy required
  • Public accounting or equivalent experience at a large company
  • Partnership taxation experience is a plus
  • People leadership experience preferred

Please note: Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
