Mission
Oversee the development and maintenance of the Carbon methodology for our Ecovadis’ Carbon Action Manager.
The EVS Methodology sub-department is in charge of defining the EcoVadis methodology behind our products, including Sustainability Ratings, IQ Plus and Vitals, and the Carbon Action Manager. The EcoVadis Carbon Action Manager offers a comprehensive suite of tools to support both supplier engagement and access to a robust and actionable carbon data network to drive supply chain decarbonization, including the Carbon Rating, Carbon Heatmap, PCF Data Exchange, Carbon Estimator and more.
The Carbon Methodology Manager will oversee the development and enhancement of the methodology for the various Carbon Action Manager tools. This role aims to coordinate a team of experts to ensure our products align with the most relevant carbon standards and deliver value for our customers.
Responsibilities as Carbon Methodology Lead:
- Defines the methodology strategy for our Carbon Action Manager and prioritizes the relevant methodology development initiatives in collaboration with the carbon methodology team and in alignment with our company-wide product roadmap process.
- Supervises the delivery of methodology development initiatives for our Carbon Action Manager by the carbon methodology team, including by sponsoring projects, providing project management support, and ensuring projects are aligned with our internal methodology change process.
- Oversees the organization and documentation of knowledge on carbon management issues.
- Monitors the latest changes in the global landscape through continuous research and market scan on emerging best practices and regulatory changes, including in areas previously unexplored by the EcoVadis methodology, and share methodology knowledge and expertise with the rest of the team.
- Engages into building strong external relationships, including with our most advanced customers and external experts & thought leaders, to collect feedback on and enrich our methodology on carbon management issues.
- Represents EcoVadis as the in-house expert on carbon management issues (e.g. participation in conferences, creation of specialized articles and various content, building partnerships,
networking, …) to present our methodology approach and share findings from our database. - Contributes to the definition of the overall EcoVadis methodology strategy, including by collaborating with other team leads to maximize synergy and coherence across solutions.
Responsibilities as a Team Leader:
- Manage a team of carbon methodology analysts and data analysts.
- Promote and embody the company’s vision and values by leading by example.
- Define clear roles and responsibilities for team members and ensure team ownership of them, and drive team performance in line with the carbon methodology strategy strategy and objectives.
- Develop, provide avenues for support, coach, motivate and reward team members.
- Guide the development of skills and competencies of team members including identifying training and development needs, etc.
- Create a cohesive team environment while maintaining respect both within the team, and towards other team members.
- Conduct performance appraisals & salary review, and manage attendance & team capacity, etc.
Qualifications
- Carbon Expertise - 5+ years of experience in corporate sustainability with advanced understanding of the main carbon management practices, including setting science-based targets, corporate carbon management strategies, carbon accounting and supply chain decarbonization.
- Leadership - Communicates a clear strategy and vision enabling all teams to understand and be motivated towards a common goal.
- Collaboration & Influencer - Builds relationships across departments, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared accountability without relying on direct authority.
- Strategic thinking - Understands how emerging trends are shaping the market and impacting customer needs, and how this should be translated in the EcoVadis Carbon Action Manager methodology.
- Adaptability & Resilience - Navigates uncertainty and shifting priorities while maintaining focus on long-term objectives and inspiring confidence in team members.
- Project management - Keeps multiple and complex projects moving forward concurrently, and quickly understands existing EcoVadis processes and technical aspects.
- Communication, presentation & public speaking skills - Explains complex concepts in a synthetic way and adapts messaging and communication style to the audience.
- Proactivity & Team Spirit - Keeps multiple and complex projects moving forward concurrently and engages other teams within the Methodology sub-department as well as in the wider organization (Solutions, Technology Platform Services, Solutions Consulting, Marketing departments etc.).
