The hours for this role are 7am-3pm
The hourly rate for this position is $27.99 per hour.

What you'll do:
We are seeking a skilled Utility Spot Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating various machines, including small lathes, automatic machines, spot welders, drill presses, lapping machines, pneumatic drill presses, hydraulic presses, and marking equipment. The role involves performing secondary machining operations, working from various documentation, and ensuring the production of high-quality parts. The Utility Spot Welder will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and tools, reporting any issues, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate small lathes, automatic machines, spot welders, drill presses, lapping machines, pneumatic drill presses, hydraulic presses, and marking equipment.
• Perform secondary machining operations such as turning, boring, chamfering, counterboring, rubber cutting, and general assembly work.
• Work from prints, methods sheets, operations sheets, specification sheets, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce parts to acceptable quality and quantity levels.
• Use various measuring devices, including micrometers, verniers, vacuum checks, knives, monochromatic light, optical flats, stops and guides, plug and ring gauges, expansion plugs, and indicators.
• Set speeds and feeds, tools, depth gauges, comparators, and similar instruments.
• Machine fixtures, jaws, plugs, and similar parts; sharpen knives and tools; change and reset dull tooling as required.
• Charge table plates with diamond paste following prescribed methods.
• Repair parts and finished seals as instructed or directed by group leader or supervisor.
• Check own work after first piece check by group leader or supervisor.
• Report faulty operation, defective material, and unusual conditions to group leader or supervisor.
• Observe prescribed safety precautions, company rules, and regulations.
• Maintain area, equipment, and tools in clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications:

• Ability to use simple drawings, prints, specifications, and methods sheets.
• Proficiency with adjustable measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, and vacuum checks.
• Over one year and up to three years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred:
• Ability to make general decisions required in repairing parts and finished seals within prescribed tolerances.
• Light physical effort, frequently working with material in the range of five to twenty-five pounds.
• Continuous visual and/or mental attention to lathes, presses, and lapping machines, as well as various measuring devices.
• Responsible for own work, with reasonable care necessary to prevent injury to others.
• Good working conditions, with minor exposure to dust and chips.
