Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Tester Team Leader. The hourly rate for this position is $27 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

HOURS: 6AM - 2:30PM

Candidates must reside within 50 miles from our Houston, TX location OR Fayetteville, NC location (14825 Northwest Freeway, Houston TX OR 2900 Doc Bennett Rd. Fayetteville, NC). THOSE RESIDING IN FAYETTEVILLE MUST RELOCATE TO HOUSTON UPON COMPLETION OF TRAINING.

Candidates hired will be required to train for 6-8 weeks in the Fayetteville, NC location.

  • Houston-based individuals that travel to Fayetteville, NC to train will have expenses covered according to Eaton's Worldwide Travel and Expense Policy.
  • Fayetteville based individuals that live within 50 miles of our Fayetteville, NC location will receive a one-time lump sum relocation bonus of $5000 will be paid to hired candidates relocating to the Houston area upon completion of training.

A retention bonus will be paid to individuals hired according to the following schedule: $250 bonus after 3 months of employment; $500 bonus after 6 months of employment $1000 bonus after 1 year of employment.

Position will also be eligible for a variable incentive program beginning January, 2026.

What you'll do:

The Test Lead will assist or provide backup with attendance scheduling, monitor team productivity and drive continuous improvement actions in regards to Safety, Quality, On Time Performance and Productivity. The Test Lead will plan, electronically / electrically test, and inspect all Fayetteville Products as part of product testing in order to verify correct product function and perform troubleshooting and repair as required. The Test Lead will serve as point of contact for all witness test activities between Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service and Customer. The Test Lead will communicate effectively, liaison between various functions and departments, develop as a leader and interface with the customer. In this function, you will:

  • Guide, oversee, and coordinate test operations to respond positively to obstacles, changes, materials, varying labor requirements.
  • Partner with Operational Excellence and Engineering to develop Standard Work for tester operations. Serve as subject matter expert for test.
  • Improve test team productivity. Develop performance data including measuring and monitoring past and present performance and track progress toward goals, objectives, and plans.
  • Lead the creation and deployment of Electrical Safety Work Practices and safety training to electrical testers in partnership with Environment Health and Safety, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Assist in training, instruction, and guidance to employees. Develop and implement tester apprentice program to create a skilled tester pool.
  • Create/Update tester Skills Matrix and identify cross training opportunities to improve overall tester functions.
  • Lead Tester Forums to improve continuity and community practices between testers.
  • Schedule tester base as required to meet production schedule and customer commitments as provided by manufacturing leadership.
  • Develop as a leader in the organization. Think & act strategically, get results, build organizational capability, and demonstrate a leadership style.

Position Criteria:

  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality personnel to ensure the continuous application of quality control standards to products and work processes.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive ability, and analytical problem solving aptitude with individuals and groups to facilitate process improvements within teams.
  • Serve as a working team member.
  • Promote clear, consistent, and continuous communication in all directions.
  • Gather and provide individual and department tester performance data and metrics.
  • Work closely with supervisors to assure unified efforts.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have an Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology/Engineering or related degree with a minimum of three (3) years experience testing Motor Control Assemblies or Low Voltage Control Distribution Assemblies, OR high school diploma /GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience testing or Motor Control Assemblies or Low Voltage Control Distribution Assemblies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience with Eaton Electrical Safety Work Practices
  • Experience in communications testing, i.e. Profibus, Ethernet, etc.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering disciplines for product design and development
  • Drafting experience and/or coursework in drafting principles
  • Experience training others and leading projects and teams
  • Experience conducting witness tests with customer interface.
  • Electrical Test related certifications and education

Skills:
