Eaton's IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Systems Engineering Specialist. This is a remote position.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you'll do:
This position is for a Systems Engineering (SE) Specialist role supporting research and new product development in Eaton's Mission Systems Division (MSD). The Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, system architecture development, and supporting system integration and test. The candidate will provide technical oversight and guidance to other SE engineers based in US and in Global Teams as well as serve as an individual contributor. The product and systems are thermal fluid and dynamic mechanical systems that support aerospace applications. These aerospace applications are diverse and include space life support and propulsion, aircraft oxygen and refueling, and weapons storage and release systems. The Systems Engineer should be self-motivated to proactively learn about the technical domain of the given system and identify how and where the systems engineering discipline can create the highest value. Similarly, the candidate should have experience tailoring systems engineering practices to program scope and need. Finally, the candidate should work as a member and partner of the product team generating SE work products and providing technical guidance to incorporate systems engineering methodologies. Other critical skills include technical leadership, project execution, and team collaboration.

• Support Bid & Proposal Efforts:
o Review customer requirements documents
o Define areas of risk and updates
o Develop SE estimates tailored to scope/need
• Collaborate with product team to manage requirements:
o Write, allocate, and trace.
o Develop system/subsystem specifications.
o Create and manage verification matrices.
• Collaborate with product team to define system architecture:
o Define the physical, functional, and behavioral models.
o Use Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) when appropriate.
o Identify interfaces between systems and subsystems.
• Support the product team with integration and test efforts.
o Align/synergize modeling and simulation analysis and test plans
o Identify technical integration risks and mitigation strategies.
o Ensure full coverage of requirements, and system architecture.
• Support Eaton Aerospace Process development
o Contribute to team defining standard work document.
o Develop process to identify level of systems engineering required for programs.
o Develop metrics to measure SE process implementation.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Systems Engineering MSD
o Develop skills matrix and training plans to build discipline capabilities within MSD
o Develop SE implementation plans for each program based on value proposition.
o Ability to define and "the right" solution for SE integration on programs
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of System Engineer experience in the aerospace industry
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with MBSE using SySML language
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency. The Company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in System Engineering.
• 5 years of experience with CAMEO
• 5-10 years of experience with DOORS
• Direct experience with participation in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR..)
• Demonstrated experience supporting complete product life cycle.
• Relationship building and ability to balance SE discipline into programs
• Demonstrated experience working with global M&S teams
• Membership Professional Society Related to Discipline (ex. INCOSE)
• Open to potential functional leadership opportunities
• Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles
• Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt certification or ability to complete within 1 year
