Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Tech. The hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Perform audits, inspections, and tests (dimensional, visual, and functional, as applicable) to manufacturing processes and/or components received from internal and external suppliers, with the objective of ensuring product quality following company quality standards. Ensure compliance with internal Quality System procedures, as well as applicable EQMS policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Perform dimensional, visual, and/or functional inspections and testing of materials going into manufacturing processes and/or components received from internal and external suppliers against the current revision of specifications (Drawings, EBOM, Material Standard, Test Spec, Manufacturing Instructions), as applicable.
2. Ensure the correct evaluation and disposition of non-conforming material identified in the receiving inspection area.
3. Assist line engineers in special inspections, upon request.
4. Perform the transactions in AS400 and Wisper (if applicable) of all the material received and processed in the Receiving Inspection area.
5. Place the non-conforming material from incoming process and/or process inspections into the HOLD Cage per the Receiving Inspection Procedure.
6. Maintain up-to-date inspection records for the components received from the supplier.
7. Generate DMRs to suppliers in Wisper to document non-conformance findings and send notifications to the supplier.

Responsibilities related to Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS):

1. Attend all Safety, Health, and Environmental training, as assigned.
2. Comply with 5S/MESH requirements.
3. Responsible for ensuring safety standards as well as policies established by Eaton.
4. Non-compliance with safety procedures may result in minor accidents and/or injuries depending on the function.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diplomas or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in a Quality Inspector or Testing position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in switchboard assembly Mechanical (Connectors) or Wiring areas.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
