Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Sr EHS Engineer.
Main responsibilities and authority:
• Manages and directs the site to achieve EHS goals and objectives. Leads the development, maintenance and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives
• Ensure legal compliance on the site: STPS, SEMARNAT, SEDUMA, etc. and voluntary programs such as Clean Industry and Self-management.
• Facilitates on-site risk assessment to identify hazards and critical EHS issues and Works with the leadership team to create goals and objectives based on key EHS risks.
• Determine appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against goals and objectives.
• Supports the creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and first-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.

• Works to assign MESH element champions and facilitate their participation in the ownership of MESH elements. Act as Champion or Co-Champion in various categories or elements (depending on the assignment matrix).
• Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout the site
• Creates and facilitates EHS participation through EHS teams and committees necessary to achieve established goals and objectives for the year.
• Works with the leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual assessment of compliance with national, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Seek third-party recognition for programs that establish Eaton's site and EHS program as world-class.
• Use established EHS data processes, such as MESH PRISM, to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items, and other relevant information.
• Work with the site and facility leadership team to ensure all key EHS operational controls are in place, in a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved in a timely manner.
• Performs activities in accordance with the Quality and Environment policies established by the business.
• Apply the principles and methodology of Safety and Environment to prevent accidents.
• Attend training courses assigned by the Human Resources Department.
• Responsible for actively participating in all Continuous Improvement activities in my area of responsibility effectively using EBS processes and tools, such as ELSS. CIF, PRO-Launch, EQS and others as applicable in accordance with the CI Competency Matrix for EHS.
Other responsibilities:
ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM RESPONSABILITY
• Separate dangerous residues from the normal trash
• Place the dangerous residues (gloves, cloths, etc.) in the assigned containers.
• Maintain area clean and free of contaminants.
• Not a waste of water or electricity.
• Report any activity that can put in risk my safety and environment.
• Identify and give adequate disposition to all chemical products which can contaminate the environment.
• Acting immediately in chemists' discharge case.
• Ensure the rights containers for disposition of dangerous residues (identifying containers and containers to prevent discharge)
ENSURING THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITY
• Ensuring the integration of the quality management system requirements into the organization's business processes.
• Ensuring that the quality management system achieves its intended results.
• Promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking.
• Ensuring that the resources needed for the quality management system are available.
• Communicating the importance or effective quality management and of conforming to the quality management system requirements
• Engaging, directing, and supporting people to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system.
• Promoting improvement.
• Supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility.
• Support and participate in the Fresh Eyes Audit, ISO IATF/ EQMS Policies/ Group Procedures/ Local Procedures, etc.
Qualifications:
Education level required: Bachelor's Degree
Years and area of experience required: Previous experience or education with an emphasis on managing environmental, health and safety programs and employee training.
Technical competencies:
- Understanding of Eaton, industry, state and national EHS requirements
- Expert in utilizing company-wide system to report EHS data and information
- Good level of English
- Knowledge of Mexican regulatory laws

- Security knowledge
