In this newly created role, you will lead a highly skilled, geographically diverse cloud automation and engineering team that is responsible for collaborating on product development, development of end-to-end automation solutions, management of our complex multi-cloud ecosystem and the tools that support it and working with the thought leaders to mature the environment and processes. A key focus is on helping to shepherd Eaton through a digital transformation that is not only about technology, but a shift in culture.
What you'll do:
As a senior leader in the cloud engineering and automation space, you must be able to identify opportunities and lead your team in implementing impactful solutions across the platform. You will drive end-to-end automation and self-service capabilities that will assist in making the product teams self-sufficient. Additionally, you will manage key resources on large-scale initiatives such as the Cloud Migration program, BrightLayer solution development, and ERP deployments. You will lead the management of the Multi-Cloud environment on a day-to-day basis. You will be a proficient communicator at all levels, including direct interactions with senior leaders. Additionally, you will provide mentorship, career guidance, and regular feedback to your direct team and serve as a mentor for junior resources across the organization. In this role, you will especially focus on ensuring the team drives DevOps, Security, and agile methodologies into all aspects of the platform.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with thought leaders across IT and the Business to drive business focused outcomes
- Deliver metric driven outcomes and effectively communicate status and trends to leadership
- Be visible outside of our direct sphere of responsibility, providing leadership to the broader organization
- Drive security into every aspect of our platform and collaborate with CYBER to provide a highly secure environment
- Continue to evolve the cloud and automation team as they grow the space matures
- Work with Architects to set a Strategy and Roadmap to achieve end-to-end automation and self-service for the Cloud environment
- Drive and evolution in our service catalog capabilities, adding functionality and managing the lifecycle
- Establish processes and methods to efficiently manage a multi-cloud ecosystem with agility and velocity
- Interface with key vendors on automation and cloud solution implementations and on-going management
- Tightly integrate with the other Cloud leaders to effectively manage the cloud and automation platforms
- Assist the FinOps team in driving cost efficient solutions and provide them with necessary technical assistance
- Work with the Engineering function on the development and implementation of new cloud solutions
- Develop and implement solutions with the SRE team to provide a highly available and protected environment
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience within an IT engineering function and/or consulting team
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud computing/technology experience
• No relocation is provided for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of one of our listed Eaton locations in the United States to be considered for this opportunity
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States on a continuous basis without company
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in sophisticated, global, matrixed organizations within a world class IT function
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience over a cloud operations team
• Strong background in automation, and familiarity with Terraform
• Experience leading large-scale IT projects, preferably in the cloud migration space
• Comfortability with Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience managing budgets and financials associated with large scale projects
Skills:
• Expertise in Cloud Computing and Networking
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices
• Proven ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment across global, cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated leadership experience in setting strategic vision, empowering team members, and providing mentorship to drive professional growth and innovation
• Expertise in implementing iterative processes, adapting to changing requirements, and promoting open communication and collaboration to ensure responsive and effective cloud operations

The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
