Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Production Team Lead. At our Youngsville, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship prodcuts related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilties, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. The Production Team Lead role offers a 40-hour paid work week with hours being 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. With full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

To Eaton's Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Team Lead to join our first shift team. This position is based at our Youngsville, NC facility.

In this function you will:
• Responsible for inspecting products for conformance by using assembly instructions, manufacturing orders and checklists at the quality level mandated by the company/product line. Lead root cause analysis for quality defects.
• Kitting & material allocation: material write-offs, wire count verification, verify on-hand inventory is correct and production orders on schedule are clear to build, retrieve expense material from receiving and allocate properly to the wire harness cell.
• Float to wire harness cell workstations to assist production when necessary.
• Print out and provide all required supporting documentation (drawings, specs, guides) to operators to support builds.
• Support the changeover of tooling to support wire cutting and crimping operations. This will include the proper storage and setup of sensitive crimp tooling.
• Interface regularly with the production planner and material handlers to ensure all resources needed to meet customer commitments are available. Order parts as needed
• Maintain consistent/quality production output by directing associates based on workload
• Manage the work center production boards on an hourly basis to ensure production is meeting target output levels adjusting resources to meet business need
• Represent production work centers in daily production meetings as needed and highlight any issues affecting production
• Provide daily updates to purchasing to ensure customer demands are met. Lead and coach production team on use of Kanban system
• Inform manufacturing engineering representative of an BOM inaccuracies. Provide support for updates of standardized work
• Coaches production team on continuous flow principles. Helps continuously redistribute workload as need to help maintain work balance across work stations
• Report any issues or problems affecting quality or product delivery to necessary departments
• Assist in training of new employees. Maintain training records for production team.
• Able to perform all build functions within work cell
• Adheres to and promotes all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions. Brings key issue to attention of management team and assists in determining solutions
• Use the principles of 5S to ensure a clean and organized work area
• Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork (ELSS, EQS, etc). Lead Kaizen events in within and across production team

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Minimum two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Forklift certified
• Associate's degree
• Inventory control experience

Skills:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and requires frequent standing or bending.
• Ability to distinguish colored wiring
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a productive, team-oriented environment
• Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
• Attention to detail and ability to use Microsoft Office programs and MRP software
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, or standard work procedures
• Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions
• Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime
