We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer Manager - Fire Alarm Systems who will be responsible for Product Management of Fire system portfolio including Interfaces, Notification devices, Manual detectors.

What you'll do:
As a Product Engineer Manager, you will join our Fire Systems Product Management Team, within our Life Safety Division, and will have responsibility for key elements of the fire systems portfolio including Interfaces, Notification devices and Manual call points. You will be reporting to the Senior Global Product Manager and working under their supervision as part of a wider product management team.
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager, or for an experienced professional with knowledge and experience of fire systems, who benefits from both technical and commercial skills to perform within such a role.
The role is suitable for remote workers, but you will be required to travel for meetings with the wider team and customers, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bring Product Management expertise, principally centered on conception, design, market position, pricing, and profitability for products under their responsibility
- Full product lifecycle management of key elements of the fire systems portfolio, aligning strategy with other Product Managers within the business
- Ownership of the product roadmap ensuring the successful launch and development of new products
- Achieve or exceed the budget Sales and GM % of the product line
- Define and compile detailed marketing material for the product range, to include comprehensive product requirement specifications aligned to customer and market requirements
- Set strategic aims, vision, and market ambition for the range across all our chosen territories
- Set revenue targets and profit margins, whilst ensuring cost base targets are not exceeded
- Analyze market and competition
- Support and initiate sales and marketing activities
- Deliver business cases and manage the profit and loss for the range of products under their responsibility
- Identify and cultivate appropriate potential new partners that can best complement Eaton's Fire systems business and ensure future growth in parallel or new markets
- Frequently meet with customers and partners for technical discussions about new products and innovations to understand their respective strategies to ensure alignment with Eaton's Fire Systems business.
- Support new product launches and obtain the voice of customer
- Maintain SIOP forecasts and engage regularly with the factory team
- Prioritize and manage engineering change requirements, preparing documentation and aligning with relevant stakeholders to action using business tools
- Manage and coordinate product related data with business partners
- Manage annual pricing reviews and continuous margin analysis through the product lifecycle, continuous pricing improvements and product line portfolio management
- Arrange local and international activities to enhance product communications with customers and internal departments; and provide support for the delivery of exhibitions
Qualifications:
- Electrical Bachelor Engineering degree Degree or similar
- Product Management experience, or technical and commercial exposure within the fire industry (5 years minimum)
Skills:
- Experience in portfolio management / coordination within a large organization
- Good working knowledge of Fire Detection & Alarm Systems including:
- Visual Alarming Devices
- Manual Call Points / Pull Stations
- Interfaces, and other peripherals
- Familiarity with fire systems regulations i.e. BS5839-1, BS5839-8
- Soft skills to include communication, project management, negotiation, writing and presentation
- Basic computer skills to include, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Team, MS PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
