Eaton's ES AMER Sector Integration division is currently seeking a Power Electronics Technical Team Lead.

This position offers a Hybrid work schedule at our Eaton location in Raleigh, NC. Work Sponsorship offered. Relocation offered to candidates residing in the US and live outside 50 miles of the facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $112500.0 - $165000.0 a year.

Eaton is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Technical Team Lead for its Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE) team in Raleigh, NC.

Eaton's PE CoE accelerates the company's growth by developing power electronics platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable. These platforms and blocks, along with standardized design methodologies, can be adopted by multiple business units, providing a foundation for rapidly developing innovative products.

The team Lead will be responsible for leading and directing a team of engineers and internal projects, as well as designing and building innovative power electronics solutions for power conversion and protection. This position requires a technically strong engineer with leadership skills capable of managing a cross-functional team and collaborating with global teams.
• Leads and directs a team of engineers and projects to achieve stated goals and objectives.
• Monitors and reports on overall performance of the team and projects. Establishes a performance-based culture, motivating the team to set and achieve measurable goals and objectives that align with PE CoE strategies.
• Performs design, modeling, simulation, and implementation of power electronics solutions for power conversion and protection.
• Develops technical requirements and creates technical reports and presentations.
• Works with the PE CoE director to attract, coach, and mentor team members, strengthening the technical capability of the team.
• Stays current with the latest power electronics technologies and business trends, applies knowledge to power conversion and protection applications, and creates new opportunities.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of industry experience in developing power electronics control or motor control, including the development of control architecture, algorithms, and embedded software.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis with tools like Matlab/Simulink
• Minimum 2 years of experience in team leadership
• Hands-on experience with power lab testing

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in control and embedded SW validation with HIL (e.g., OPAL-RT HIL)
• Strong expertise in digital controls
• Experience with embedded software architecture and programming in C/C++.
• Proficient in developing and implementing controls with auto-code generation tools (e.g., Simulink Coder)
• Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes (e.g., DFSS)
• Minimum 3 years of project management
