Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. At our Worcester, MA we focus in the Electrical Sector when it comes to Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure to multiple segments, so of those being Utilties, Hospitals, Data Centers, and Commercial Institutions. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician role will over full time 40 hour work week, Medical Benefits, 401K, vacation, and opportunity for upward mobility. Schedule will be 8:00am-5:00pm and Monday-Friday

The hourly rate for this position is $24.80 - $41.23 per hour.

What you'll do:

Primary function of a manufacturing engineering technician is to create, maintain, and update machine programs for components that make finished products. Additionally, they are responsible for determining product routing through the plant fabrication, paint, and assembly processes to optimize quality and efficiency. This position will include CNC Programming and DMM Administrative responsibilities.

In this function you will:
• Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing. Determines optimal programming methods, machine tool selection and machine methods to produce parts with the most effective machine time and material conservation.
• Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
• Document manufacturing processes with work instructions.
• Generate and implement Engineering Change Notices enhancing product quality and reducing product cost.
• Implement New Products from design Engineering into manufacturing by programming new parts to be punched on turrets/lasers and assigning shop production routing by loading information into AS400.
• Reviews engineering production drawings for accuracy and informs engineering of suspected errors or potential part geometry improvement.
• Responsible for Turret press, Laser, Shear Genius, and CNC programs and drawing files.
• Utilize computer programs to include AS400, DMM, and Enovia to identify parts and support part management.
• DMM Administrative responsibilities include updating machine and employee master tables, creating new accounts, conducting daily validation of DMM for errors in demand (material mismatched or not tooled), setting material standards, and part management.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required):

  • A high school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
  • 2 years of CNC programming experience
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on manufacturing engineering
  • Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the described facility to be considered. Now relocation is offered for this position as well.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to define and implement verification and validation test plans.
  • Creative problem solving, strong communication, presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Prior experience with an ERP System (AS400) and DMM
  • Prior experience with additive manufacturing
  • Prior programming knowledge of Prima Shear Genius and Prima Laser Genius+
