Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible to effectively carry out tasks associated with the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of all facility and production equipment. In addition, this position is also responsible to perform duties associated with the installation of new equipment and removal of obsolete equipment in accordance with Management of Change (MOC) actions assigned to the position. The incumbent will also support departmental goals regarding key corporate initiatives including Eaton Lean System (ELSS), Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Eaton Management System for Environment, Health, Safety and Security (MESH).

In this function you will:

• Adhere to LOTO, PPE, Machine Guarding, ISO 9000 quality procedures and work instructions and actively participate in the safety and quality improvement process not only in the maintenance operation but plantwide.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning machines, equipment, and small tools/parts.
• Install/commission, relocate, and uninstall/decommission machines and equipment.
• Perform electrical maintenance activities at SME level including comprehensive periodic Thermographic Scanning
• Support strategic equipment analysis and forecast improvements to mitigate risks to critical infrastructure/equipment (OPEX and CAPEX)
• Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to improve OEE, MTBF and MTTR metrics.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation. Make necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records utilizing approved CMMS software for all work orders including Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks.
• Manage spare parts and materials inventory with approved CMMS software and inventory management strategies.
• Support and participate in BPS as well as Kaizen/RIE events to develop strategic improvements based on root cause analysis.
• Perform simple building maintenance, such as painting, minor plumbing, and minor carpentry.
• Operate various industrial vehicles/equipment used in material/machine moving/rigging installation/maintenance.
• Assist with the management of the Maintenance administered "Tool Crib".
• Train/mentor electrical apprentices in Maintenance Department.
• Support and train machine operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities.
• Act as Project Coordinator for various external contractors (plumbing, HVAC, machine techs, etc.) ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all facility environmental, health & safety guidelines, encourage positive communication, and participate with co-workers to further identify, reduce, and eliminate potential hazards.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
• Minimum 5 years of prior experience as a certified electrician, preferably in a manufacturing facility.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 80 km of the work location to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PLC programming preferred
• Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools preferred.
