Machine Operator - 1st Shift

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 1st Shift. This position is based at our Kearney, NE location. The primary function of the Machine Operator is to set up, operate and/or tend more than one type of metal cutting machine meeting specification to produce high quality parts for our customers. They will also adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 per hour.

For this Position, we will be taking the first 25 candidates and then unposting the req to provide the best experience for each person. We will reopen as needed until the req is full.

What you'll do:

• Manually load and unload parts from tubs to a conveyer belt.
• Visual and gauge parts to ensure product meets customer specifications - adjusts machines, tooling and to keep parts within allowable tolerances.
• Changeover of machinery and check gauges after changeovers to approve product.
• Keep work area clean and free of hazards, maintains 5-S housekeeping standards, complete paperwork.
• Read process sheets to determine proper dimensions.
• Use precision gauging equipment including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Follow safety policies and procedures in the performance of listed daily functions.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Must live within the country of the hiring site
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior manufacturing experience
• High School Diploma/ GED

Skills:

• Able to lift 35lbs - waist, shoulder, overhead.
• Maintains 5-S criteria within the department
• Work well with a team
• Detailed Blueprint reading
• Fork truck operation
