Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Lead Test Engineer.

What you'll do:

Primary Function:

Provide leadership and support for Arecibo plant testing area including ProLauch of new products, CI projects, day-to-day support, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, maintenance, and continuous improvements events. Define and lead projects to improve qualification processes, reduce PPMs, increase capacity, increase OTP and improve safety. Define and lead process improvement projects in order to improve plant's indicators (PPM, Warranty Claims, Fill Rate, On-Time Performance, Yield, and Scrap).

Essential Functions:

1. Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing operation in the testing area of air circuit breakers including Process Control and Test (PCaT) systems.

2. Provide technical leadership for functional and qualification testing of air circuit breakers.
3. Troubleshoots routine and unusual problems related to test equipment and breakers (e.g. Electrical, Software/Hardware and Mechanical problems).
4. Perform hands-on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation repairs and troubleshooting.
5. Supervise small group of maintenance and test technicians.
6. Perform data analysis and prepare reports (e.g. yield).
7. Monitor test processes/performance and provide/implement corrective actions to problems.
8. Analyze equipment/processes using six sigma tools in order to identify and implements improvements (e.g. MSA).
9. Review, update and develop maintenance and calibration activities/plans.
10. Coordinates corrective, preventive and proactive maintenance services to test equipment and mfg equipment on assembly area.
11. Provide training and support to the equipment operators and technicians.
12. Ensure that all equipment documentation is in place and updated (e.g. manuals, PM, spare parts).
13. Provide guidance for the proper selection of test equipment spare parts.
14. Perform calibration procedures to test equipment.
15. Support test equipment design and validation.
16. Validate existing and new Test Equipment performing qualification testing, Including factory Acceptance test.

Qualifications:

Specialized Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing environment, Lean tools, capacity analysis, manning process, cost savings and capital projects.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
Proven Experience:
o Establish networking and interact with key persons/groups at all level of the organization (including suppliers) whose assistance, cooperation, and support may be needed.
o Manage effectively high-pressure situation.
o Managing multiple projects/situations simultaneously.
o Leads and directs a team to support the future direction of an organization.
o Realigns resources to meet changing customer needs.
o Hand-on experience troubleshooting and repairing routine/unusual electrical and mechanical system including hardware/software
• Supervisory experience.
• Instrumentation/Calibration experience.
• Corrective and Preventive maintenance experience.
• Experience using various equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Force Gauges, Temperature Meters and Power Supplies.
• Identification and selection of new technology to improve quality and performance.
• Electrical schematic and mechanical drawing interpretation experience.
• Motor, transformer and pneumatic systems knowledge.
• Experience in electrical assembly or manufacturing/testing setting.
• Basic knowledge in programming (e.g. C++ , Labview and Test Stand)
• PC Proficiency including knowledge of MS windows operating systems, MS Office and Minitab.
• Experience supporting internal/external audits including certification renewal.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Bilingual - EnglishSpanish with good oral and written communication skills
