Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern.
What you'll do:
Primary Function:
The Engineering Intern position with Eaton's Power Systems Engineering Group will primarily involve reviewing project specifications & single line diagrams, correspondence to gather data, performing power system analysis studies, electrical design, and some AutoCAD drafting.
Essential Functions:
- Provide applied engineering in the areas of power system studies, power quality analysis, and electrical power system design.
- Performing short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load flow, power quality, and arc flash hazard analysis studies.
- Review project specifications, single-line diagrams, and equipment Bill of Materials.
- Prepare power system study data requests and follow up as required.
- Assist with electrical substation and protection & control design tasks.
- Manage paperwork and office procedures.
- Perform all work at a high level.
- Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Degree program with preference given to 3rd and 4th-year students with a focus on electrical power systems.
- This position does not offer relocation.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good organizational and time management skills required.
- Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience in the use of SKM PTW, ETAP, EDSA, CYME, or EasyPower power system analysis software would be a plus.
- Ability to read and understand single-line diagrams and schematics would be an asset.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical code requirements and design practices is an asset.
- Good attitude and work ethic required.
