Eaton has an opening for Internship: Power Systems Engineering position for 4/8/12 months. This position is in Kitchener, ON.

What you'll do:

The Engineering Intern position with the Eaton's Power Systems Engineering Group primarily will involve review of project specifications & single line diagrams, correspondence to gather data, perform power system analysis studies, electrical design and some AutoCAD drafting.

Essential Functions:

• Provide applied engineering in the areas of power system studies, power quality analysis and electrical power system design.
• Performing short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load flow, power quality and arc flash hazard analysis studies.
• Review project specifications, single line diagrams and equipment Bill of Materials.

• Prepare power system study data requests and follow up as required.
• Assist with electrical substation and protection & control design tasks.
• Manage paperwork and office procedures.
• Perform all work at a high level.
• Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Degree program with preference given to 3rd and 4th year students with a focus on electrical power systems.
• This position does not offer relocation.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good organizational and time management skills required.
• Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience in the use of SKM PTW, ETAP, EDSA, CYME, or EasyPower power system analysis software would be a plus.
• Ability to read and understand single line diagrams and schematics would be an asset.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical code requirement and design practices an asset.
• Good attitude and work ethic required.
