Position Profile:

As the Firmware Engineering Manager, you will lead the efforts of design engineers in creating products for Eaton's PCD business. You will have the opportunity to build high-quality products and lead a high-performance team through application of best-in-class development processes, effective cross-functional coordination while contributing to the global alignment of the product designs. Your team will be responsible for new product development, design, maintenance, resolution of customer/field issues and continuous improvement efforts. You will champion innovation in new differentiating products and technologies and lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables.

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of a team of firmware design engineers, managing priorities and driving a high-performance culture.
  • Execute new product development from planning through industrialization. Lead the team in developing product requirements, design concepts, designs, and test plans. Drive design reviews, validation, and transfer of new products to manufacturing
  • Perform product line support to enable production and sales while protecting product functionality and compliance. Direct teams in problem-solving for product issues and ensure product function and integrity according to customer requirements and standards. Maintain third-party certifications.
  • Participate in global product and technology strategy, and project prioritization process. Champion innovation events and intellectual property capture.
  • Drive functional excellence in engineering by assessing and developing capabilities, encourage growth through formal training and assignments.
  • Drive synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups, managing department budget and performance to forecast.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with Product Line Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other Engineering teams.
  • Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology
  • Provide a safe working and laboratory environment through our Zero-Incident Culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience working on Embedded Systems, Firmware architecture and design, with 5+ years of experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Demonstrated track record for delivering high quality products on-time.
    Experience working w/ distributed (multi-site) development, test & production teams
  • Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle (initiation, launch, support)
  • Experience with design processes, project/program management skills
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems
  • Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
  • Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
  • Experience with product development tools/processes with continuous improvement mindset.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141,000.03- 206800.04 per year/ This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
