Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.
As one of the world's largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton's expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton's Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you'll do:
As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) within the local Country Service Unit, you will be mainly working in large data center projects. You are going to be responsible for installation, commissioning, fault finding/repairs & Preventative Maintenance while providing a first class service for the Eaton installed base products to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty. Your will also provide support to the extended EMEA Service community through high level technical knowledge and experience in the field.
- Responsible for overseeing Data centre commissioning, on behalf of Eaton Field Service in local country service unit
- Provide the highest level of technical expertise in all Hyperscale commissioning activities.
- Support and train Local Field Service Engineers in such activities
- Onboard, coach and mentor new Field Service Engineers that join Eaton
- Manage key account technical escalations providing support including site visits, to engineers and customers alike, drive escalations to conclusion and provide feedback where necessary.
- Work closely with Project Managers, advising on commissioning considerations and assisting on selection of suitable engineers, carry out site visits as required.
- Assist Project Management Organization with support of high profile clients, providing technical advice and attending site visits as required.
- Maintain direct links with business units (factories) and act as focal point for all technical exchange regarding the commissioning procedures and testing
- Manage sub contractor teams were required
- Perform Health & Safety audits of Field Service Engineer and subcontractors ensuring the high standards required by EATON are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Installer electrical background, suitable education/qualifications
- 5+ years in the field focusing on Data Centers/UPS
Skills:
- Three phase electrical installation and commissioning experience essential.
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP is an advantage
- Programming of PLC control systems (Power Control, Generator Control, SCADA, or process control) is an advantage
- Good understanding of switch panels and power distribution
- Fluency in English and Finnish
- Excellent communication skills, strong customer focus
- Flexibility, being able to work together with different cultures
