Electrical Engineering Manager

Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton's expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton's Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you'll do:

Leads Electrical Engineering team at EMEA 3-phase UPS R&D organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages Electrical Engineering team
  • Recruits team members, maintains team proficiency
  • Manages competence and performance development of his/her direct reports
  • Manages working hours, absences and vacation administration of the team
  • Coordinates electrical engineer resourcing in R&D projects
  • Leads the technology development of the business unit
  • Collaborates with corporate research and technology organizations to propose technology development projects that align with business needs
  • Coordinates thesis works within R&D organization
  • Gives technical supervision in design tasks
  • Responsible of teams job safety in R&D test labs together with Lead Safety Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Master / Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Min 5 years of experience in electrical product design

Skills:

  • Electrical and testing experience
  • Leadership skills
