Eaton EIIC is hiring a Director - Direct Material Productivity in Pune, India.
What you'll do:
This position is responsible for leading and managing Direct Material Productivity (DMP) organization, and to provide leadership and direction that creates significant cost out opportunities for Eaton working in close collaboration with the Global Procurement office, CTO Organization, Business Divisions across Eaton. In addition, this leader will work very closely with the Global Procurement Organization , GSCCoE P&E team and businesses to deliver significant Cost out and Resilency goals . The leader will have to work on significant improveents using CI, Lean tools . The Leader will be responsible for managing teams of engineers working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of delivering significant cost-out opportunities and creating a robust pipeline of executable cost-out projects, supporting resilience-related projects, and supporting new product development.

The leader will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost, and technical targets for all Direct Material Productivity efforts under their control, as well as developing and managing relationships with Eaton business leaders & stakeholders.
a) Strategic Execution: Participate in the development of strategies and solutions to ensure the Global Supply Chain Procurement Office meets its requirements of costout, resilency. Responsible for implementing these plans collaboratively with SCM, Business Divisions, Marketing, and Manufacturing Organizations
b) Leadership: Provide leadership to the DMP and act as a liaison between the GPO, Business Engineering teams, and others to deliver significant Direct Material Cost-out performance. Work in conjunction with the Global Procurement & Corporate Engineering Functional Excellence to create an executable playbook around Design to Value at Eaton. Provide leadership to partner with business engineering teams to drive VAVE projects from EIIC. Clearly articulate expectations and progress to the executive team and various business stakeholders, as well as with the internal teams.
c) BOC: Attract and select the talent needed to meet current and future business needs. Act as a coach and motivator to help employees develop. Build a pipeline of high-performing, diverse teams that apply their skills to costout pipeline ideas. Set high expectations and galvanize the organization to achieve them. Act as an I&D advocate and a talent scout.
d) Lean Mindset and Continuous Improvement : Develop a high-performing, innovative, empowered, and accountable culture across the DMP organization.
e) Execution : Create and execute roadmap towards significant cost reductions. Fully leverage digital and physical prototyping capabilities to drive Direct Material Productivity. Leverage the state-of-the art test labs & external echo system to accelerate Direct Material Productivity. Creates and fills a robust, and executable pipeline of Direct Material Productivity projects that will help drive improved cost performance, and move Eaton to the upper quartile of performance vs its peer group. Rgular review of existing controls and Governance of the standard processes and ensuring alignment to global defined processes
e)Execution: Create and execute a roadmap towards significant cost reductions. Fully leverage digital and physical prototyping capabilities to drive Direct Material Productivity. Leverage state-of-the-art test labs & external ecosystems to accelerate cost-out/VAVE Projects. Create and fill a robust, executable pipeline of Direct Material Productivity projects that will help drive improved cost performance and move Eaton to the upper quartile of performance versus its peer group. Regularly review existing controls and governance of standard processes, ensuring alignment with globally defined processes.
Qualifications:
Prefer Master's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
20+ years of engineering/technology Product development and VAVE experience. 10 years of experience in leading people. Experience in handling global/diverse stakeholders, and a team of 200+ employees. Experience of working cross functional teams in leading innovation or continous improvement.
Skills:
• Strong engineering experience of launching new products in the market including working with other functions such as maketing, SCM and Manufacturing.
• Project Management experience: The leader should have a proven track record of successful project management and be familiar with all aspects of the project life cycle, including planning, execution, and delivery. The Leader should be able to identify potential risks associated with execution. identify and manage risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open, and appropriate manner.
• Experience in effectively coaching and mentoring senior leaders/direct reports,
• Experience in developing a high performing, empowered and accountable leadership team to support business growth and to build organizational capability
• Possess a deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams
• Deep understanding of Eaton's products, supply base, and of the Supply Chain function. Knows how to navigate through the SCM matrix, and how to engage the right leaders to get projects identified, and supported by each of the businesses."
