What you'll do:
• Planning, executing and monitoring development and qualification testing activities on hydraulic and electro-hydraulic aircraft components, with support and guidance from engineering team.
• Safe execution of all tasks by following corporate and departmental safety procedures.
• Practical assembly, commissioning and operation of bespoke hydraulic and electro-hydraulic development and qualification test setups.
• Setup and configuration of high speed data acquisition, control and automation systems, working with a range of analogue and digital signal types.
• Post-processing, analysis, and presentation of gathered data.
• Development and assembly of prototypes and engineering test units.
• Working in a high quality, high safety environment.

• Technical approval of hydraulic development and qualification test setups. Ownership and maintenance of engineering procedures related to engineering development and test.
• Working to aerospace industry standards & specifications, as well as aircraft specific requirements.
• Managing and maintaining engineering test equipment, instrumentation and facilities.
• Technical support to production department, supporting production investigations as well as supporting the specification, commissioning and troubleshooting of production test equipment.
• Ensuring timely and consistent communication on status of development and qualification activities, and working to project deadlines.
• Support to testing and investigation of in-service failures & air accident investigations.
Qualifications:
• HNC or equivalent UK level 4 qualification or higher, in a technical discipline.
Skills:

• Good practical skills and willingness to engage in hands-on activities including prototyping and testing.
• Strong learning agility, quickly learns and adapts to new software, systems, and hardware; uses external information to solve problems independently.

• Foundation electronic knowledge and ability to apply fundamental electrical and electronic principles to data gathering, signal conditioning, control, and automation activities.
• Able to use basic tools to handle data and turn it into charts and graphs.
• Applied critical thinking skills, taking a systematic and evidence-based approach to problem solving.
• Keen observational skills, with good record keeping, meticulousness and attention to detail.
• Good presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good standard of professionalism, particularly in customer facing scenarios.
• Theoretical and practical experience of hydraulic system setup and operation.
• Experience using NI DiaDEM for data handling and analysis.
• Practical experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Practical experience in programming and debugging PLC systems, or other small-scale control / automation systems.
• Comfortable using VBA scripts, batch scripts or other desktop automation tools to automate workflow.
• Eaton certified QEW (Qualified Electrical Worker) level 1 or 2
• Experience in assessment of risk per HSE principles.
• Familiar with 8D process, and able to contribute to 8D investigations.
• Familiar with RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing requirements.
