Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Box Maker. The core hours are 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. The hourly rate for this position is 20.08 per hour. There is a $1.25 shift differential for 2nd shift.

What You'll Do:

The box maker assembles pallet boxes for the picking team and ensures a continuous supply of products. The box maker will weigh the pallet, assemble the box, and secure it to the pallet using an air gun staple. Box makers are required to maintain a safe work environment and meet the quality standards for box making.

  • Must be willing to cross train in different departments.
  • Must be willing to operate multiple power equipment such as stand up/sit down forklifts, and electric pallet jack.
  • Inspect the staple/gun hose prior to connection to air supply.
  • Retrieve/Weigh pallets.
  • Construct a container.
  • Place the completed container in the appropriate lane according to its size, and type of pallets heat treated or regular pallets.
  • Lift products manually to place them on to pallet.
  • Communicate with coworkers to share expertise.
  • Follow safety procedures for equipment to reduce potential for accidents.
  • Use box cutters to cut packaging materials.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Lift products to place them into boxes.
  • Communicate with supervisors to resolve conflicts.
  • Understand quota requirements to accomplish expected production level.
  • Use RF (Radio Frequency) units to scan barcodes.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of LOCATION (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Skills:

  • Must be capable of regularly lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Remain standing for an extended period up to 10 hours.
  • Able to perform constant movement of the arms
  • Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
  • Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Active Listening - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
