What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position purchases raw material for the production lines assigned by Business unit, using current production system of production schedule plan. Supplies demand on time and based on needed quantity by production line in order to satisfy customer needs (internal and external).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Coordinates incoming material considering quantity and timing in order to maintain the desired inventory level, zero-line downs, minimize final product past due, also optimize the production system utilization to analyze better the inventory status.
B. Responsible to release manufacturing orders to production and make sure they are processed on a timely manner.

C. Coordinates with the manufacturing engineer, quality engineer and Production Supervisor, the ramp up of new production lines, through an analysis of customer requirements for pilot runs or prototypes; this will also minimize gradually the risk of generating obsolete raw materials.
D. Participate on Cost out projects
E. Coordinates with the Manufacturing Eng any engineering change in order to replace as fast as possible the raw material if needed, minimize obsolescence and make sure a continuous material flow on the production lines.
F. Follow up with the Sr. Buyer the procurement of raw material in case of getting close to a low inventory level or when the transit incoming material could cause a line down or when there is a production schedule increase.
G. Reports weekly or periodically the on-time delivery of our customers, our goal is to meet 80% to OTTR, in case we do not meet it an action plan will be required as a contingency and corrective plan.
H. Coordinates with the Team leaders the rework and scrap report to assure the system is always updated in order to avoid unnecessary line downs. All material should be kept as raw material until is used by production.
I. To participate on Annual Inventories (if required)
J. Provide accurate ship dates to Customer Service if material shortages may affect the shipping date to our Customer
K. Provide recovery plan to Customers in case we run behind of schedule
L. Review and execute order action in the MRP for subassemblies and finished goods.
M. Analyze monthly forecast in the short and long term to identify and prevent material shortages, inventory obsolescence or excess inventory
N. Control DOH (Days-on-Hand Inventory) to meet Materials department goals
O. Review aged orders and maintain metrics for aged orders
P. The holder of this position is responsible for implementing these functions and other activities as assigned by immediate supervisor
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in business or engineering.
• 1 year's previous experience in purchasing/planning function.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft software's equipment.
• English (desirable).
