The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Chief Financial Office the Strategy Executive director is responsible for partnering with DTCC senior leadership to develop the company's overarching strategic direction and execute on enterprise-wide business opportunities. The role will act as an adviser to DTCC senior leaders and the Board of Directors on strategic business opportunities, potential mergers & acquisitions, and partnerships to broaden/deepen DTCC's capabilities. Reporting into the MD of Financial Planning and Analysis, this global senior executive will partner with the CFO leadership team leading key components of the ongoing development and evolution of DTCC's corporate finance strategy to strengthen the firm's position in the global financial services ecosystem. This executive is responsible for partnering with senior leaders across the firm to craft the organization's strategic positioning and championing the corporate strategy to ensure enterprise-wide alignment to our broader vision and purpose.

Strategy Development, Analysis, and Communication - in partnership with senior leaders, develop and evolve the corporate and financial strategy demonstrating frameworks, methodologies, and analysis to optimize client and DTCC value; encourage and facilitate constructive debate among senior leaders to ensure an efficient outcome; articulate and communicate the overarching story of DTCC's strategy for internal and external collaborators. Support and lead strategy for any future mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Develop metrics to measure strategic outcomes at the enterprise and business level

Scenario Planning - supervise and refine scenarios to facilitate an ongoing strategy dialogue among DTCC's senior leaders; provide financial modeling for various scenarios (including potential M&A) and insights into potential disruptors impacting DTCC and the industry; partner cross functionally for enterprise scenarios.

Strategic Intelligence - provide ongoing insights to senior leaders through synthesized strategic intelligence; leverage a knowledge base of DTCC and the capital markets industry to supervise and assess external trends (e.g., innovation, competition, client needs).

Industry & Internal Engagement - Partner with business leaders to represent the firm and provide DTCC's collective view on key strategic topics as well as within DTCC as a strategy champion. This executive role has exposure and access to senior management and requires significant financial strategy development experience, research, and analytic capabilities, change management competence, capital markets (especially post-trade) industry knowledge, storytelling skills, and meeting facilitation skills. This role requires an intellectually curious and tenacious mentality as well as strong emotional and intellectual IQ, influencing skills, and courage to speak their mind.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy Development, Analysis, and Communication:
  • Lead cross-organizational components of the ongoing corporate finance strategy dialogue required to optimize the current business as well as focus and accelerate longer-term aspirations.
  • Structure and lead critical strategic analysis to evaluate alternatives to support the continual evolution of the corporate strategy to solidify DTCC's position in the global financial services industry.
  • Articulate DTCC's strategic direction in a compelling and motivating way using audience-appropriate presentations and material.
  • Support senior leaders in the development of business- and function-level strategies using our strategic framework.
  • Collaborate with key collaborators across the organization to support organic and inorganic growth opportunities and ensure alignment with the corporate strategy.
  • Lead strategy for future mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
  • Partner cross functionally to communicate DTCC's strategic direction and progress both internally and externally.

Scenario Planning
  • Influence strategic decisions by facilitating and driving scenario planning efforts across the businesses by articulating how DTCC's future shift based on analysis of external factors.

Strategic Intelligence
  • Lead a cross-organizational strategic intelligence capability to supervise client and market developments (e.g., industry trends, new technologies, market solutions, innovations) to strengthen decision making.
  • Leverage an extensive internal and external network to build a robust understanding of the external landscape and the implications for DTCC's businesses and functions.
  • Develop material to equip senior leaders and the Board with an understanding of emerging strategic issues and trends to drive better-informed decisions.

Leadership
  • Be a leader with vision and trusted advisor who serves as a change champion of DTCC's corporate strategy.
  • Challenge and inspire others across the organization to challenge established views to move the organization forward.
  • Champions a risk management culture through implementation and demonstration of processes and procedures which identify and mitigate risk.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
