About the Role:

Our Mergers & Acquisitions team is seeking a Vice President who will play a crucial role in executing Dow Jones's growth strategy through identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and integrating acquisitions. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, as VP of M&A, you will manage a team of people as well as complex projects. You have a proven track record in M&A, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset.

You will work in our midtown Manhattan office 5 days a week with flexibility as needed.

You Will:
  • Work with the SVP of Strategy to define and refine the Dow Jones B2B inorganic growth strategy, identifying target markets and companies that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of potential acquisition targets, conducting market research and financial analysis to assess strategic fit and value.
  • Oversee and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes, working closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure thorough evaluation of potential targets.
  • Lead negotiations with target companies, structuring deals and managing the transaction process from initial contact through closing.
  • Own integration planning and execution, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with Dow Jones's operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage and mentor the M&A team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, board members, and advisors, providing regular updates on M&A activities and progress.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Drive the development and implementation of best practices and processes within the M&A function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

You Have:
  • The willingness to work onsite in our midtown Manhattan office 5 days every week.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in M&A, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience within a strategic corporate environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex B2B M&A transactions.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with experience assessing and valuing potential acquisition targets.
  • Excellent negotiation and deal structuring capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience influencing and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with a strong understanding of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.

Pay Range: $260,000 - $310,000
