Main Responsibilities
- Support the EMEA/ LATAM Team with Training, supporting team with queries/ escalations when needed
- Support new members of the Team with Training and setup of systems/ shared drives
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, collaborating with HR and finance teams to ensure employee records are up-to-date.
- Responsible for end-to-end monthly payroll processing for multiple EMEA and LATAM countries in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a high level of accuracy
- Liaising and working closely with the outsourced providers TMF Group and Ceridian Dayforce
- Provide advice to employees and managers in relation to pay, Taxation and National Insurance/social security and legislative information
- Prepare input & output for payroll sign off by EMEA Payroll Supervisor/ Manager
- Work with EMEA Payroll Supervisor to ensure timely filing of all statutory reporting requirements relating to monthly quarterly and annual payroll related tax and social charges
- Work with outsourced providers ensuring all non-UK payroll tax filings and payments completed
- Arrange payment of wages, taxes and social securities
- Prepare base pay reconciliations for all payrolls under your responsibility in a timely manner
- Be responsible for the reconciliation of the payroll related balance sheet accounts inclusive of ensuring all GL's accurately reflect the payroll position
- Respond to queries from the Financial Accounting and Business Planning and Analysis teams regarding postings to the P & L and Balance sheets
- Work with the FMA to provide any payroll related schedules required for statutory audits
- Assist with project work i.e. reporting/ supporting implementations
- Monitoring the data in Workday HRIS accurately reflects the data for processing
- Deliver to start to finish payroll transitions for shared services and LATAM countries
- Work with the Global Mobility team ensuring expats or TEQ employees are being accurately taxed

Knowledge/Experience
- 2-3 years demonstrated International/EMEA/ LATAM payroll experience
- 2-3 years demonstrated experience of in house UK payroll
- Expertise in Spanish payroll desirable
- Excellent knowledge of UK payroll tax framework and European taxes
- Advanced knowledge of excel (V Look ups and Pivot tables essential)
- Proactive attitude with excellent time management, communication and co-ordination skills
- Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environment
- Adaptable to change
- An eye for detail resulting in the necessary accuracy
- Workday HRIS knowledge is desirable
- Payroll qualification required
- Languages capabilities are desirable but not essential
Learning
- Keep up to date with current legislation via webinars, seminars and updates
- Attend training courses where required
- In house training when required
The role in more detail
Currently the EMEA & LATAM payroll department manage 30 different payrolls, we also support other payrolls in the News Corp Group.
The payrolls range in volume from 400 employees on a singular payroll through to 1 expat on a payroll.
Pay dates are staggered throughout the month, so the ability to multitask and meet deadlines is a critical part of the role.
We currently have 3 specialists in the team, and the payrolls are rotated to ensure each specialist keeps updating their own knowledge, but within each payroll there is an SME to call upon.
The countries we currently process payrolls for are: Belgium; Bulgaria; Brazil; Colombia; Dubai; Denmark;France; Germany, Israel; Italy; Mexico; Netherlands; Poland; Portugal; Romania; Russia; South Africa; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland and UK;
