This Field Applications Engineer (FAE) position is based in either our Bangalore or Mumbai offices, to support Automotive system licensees to adopt Dolby's technologies into their products. The FAE acting as technical interface to partners, need to be familiar with Dolby specific technologies, provide technical support in both pre-sale and post-sale phases, liaise with different Dolby and partner teams, to ensure Dolby's technologies are correctly integrated and verified in the target system products.
Responsibilities:
• Verifying licensee products by following test procedure, evaluating test data, and communicating test results to partners
• Support pre-sales activity delivering technical presentations, demonstration of new products, promoting the value proposition of Dolby technologies to potential partners
• Mentoring licensees and negotiating with them to find solutions that satisfy Dolby's product performance expectations without causing serious hardship during design and manufacturing
• Manage the day-to-day communication on technical issues, communicating with Dolby's Tier 2 support / Engineering teams and following-up on outstanding technical issues both internally and with partners
• Attend trade shows, seminars, conferences, and educational events to keep abreast of industry developments, promote and demonstrate Dolby technologies and examine the potential of new markets for Dolby technologies
• Establish and own the relationships with technical contacts at existing and prospective partners
Technical Requirements
• Engineering background in Electrical / Electronics
• 5+ years of overall relevant work experience in audio / video / signal processing based products
• Strong programming skills on embedded system in C/C++ language
• Good knowledge of audio / video codecs fundamentals
• Familiar with Android OS framework software development is preferred
• Experience in automotive audio tuning will be added advantage.
Functional Requirements
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities when working on complex problems
• Ability to work pro-actively, independently, and cross-functionally with minimal supervision to achieve goals established in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and explain technical issues to technical and non-technical personnel
• Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills in English
• Interest in music, audio/video production, recording engineering, game/film audio or acoustics highly desirable
• Position will require extensive domestic and some international travel
