Charter for Japan Team:
  • Achieve a deep understanding of the Japan market landscape for entertainment experiences and technology. Have a keen understanding of our key constituents - their needs, interests, and motivators. Identify targets within broader set of consumer, creator, industry, and partner audiences with whom we want to prioritize engagement.
  • Establish the Japan local marketing strategy based on market specific brand and business opportunities. Work with counterparts in the Commercial Partnerships, Premium Entertainment and Cinema organizations to understand and help shape territory specific business priorities and annual marketing priorities.
  • Develop value-add relationships with key partners headquartered in the defined territory of the Japan region. Cultivate deep, senior level marketing relationships to support adoption, shape our brand presence and build confidence in the value of a Dolby partnership.
  • Integrate partners strategically into Dolby led programs, successfully integrate Dolby into partner led programs in ways that bring value to both brands. Identify opportunities for select co-marketing opportunities.
  • Input into and deploy global brand programs, tailored to Japan or territory specific nuance and local opportunities. Cover mid and lower funnel opportunities on the ground like events, point of sale, etc.
  • Grow the fan base for Dolby with relevant audiences within the region - consumer, creator, and partner/industry. Do that by conceiving, developing, and activating region specific programs through the funnel.
  • Establish goals for engagement within the context of the marketing and business priorities. Measure and evaluate impact and ROI of these activities.
Individual Responsibilities
  • Drive the Japan marketing plan development and activation- identify opportunities, set goals, activate, measure, and analyze impact
  • Build and own the marketing relationships with the heads of marketing for both key local and multinational accounts at the Japan country leadership levels.
  • Lead and execute the Dolby led local consumer campaigns.
  • Create, align and execute pre-sales marketing strategies and plans targeted at thought leaders / key influencers and customer / partners product managers to drive product adoption and the ideal marketing integration of Dolby's offering and brand into customer's products
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to ensure customers / partners properly present and promote the value Dolby's technologies and products deliver to their consumers across all marketing channels (trade shows, sales materials, sale trainings, retail merchandising, demos, user interfaces, packaging, collateral, social media, website, etc.)
  • Drive the successful execution of partner's go-to market activities that are executed locally in Japan
  • Successfully build relationships at all levels across Dolby's marketing organization
  • Closely partner with the Japan sales team
  • Be the "voice of the customer and market" back into marketing and provide timely updates on progress against stated goals
  • Manage the digital, PR and creative agencies locally
  • Main focus areas:
    • Campaigns to raise local brand awareness in Japan market
    • OEM partner relationship and joint GTM plan creation & execution
    • Working closely with Cinema exhibition partners for local campaigns and promotions
    • Rebuild Japan's local Dolby website
    • Build the marketing infrastructure - agency support for digial, social, PR & translation work
    • Gaming, Auto and Music to be added focus as we build/launch these new businesses in Japan market.
    • Work on Sony & Dolby's joint global marketing plan with close collaboration with Sony HQ.
    • Manage the local marketing budget
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
  • Extensive work in consumer entertainment, technology industries
  • 15+ years of experience in senior marketing (B2B / B2C) or business development roles leading partner or regional marketing programs
  • Demonstrated ability to source, nurture, and leverage executive and senior level relationships with partner organizations
  • Experience and demonstrated success in working across teams to develop mutually beneficial (partner and Dolby) marketing programs
  • A deep understanding of the consumer electronics and mobile business and relationship with the senior management of these companies
  • Proven track record in defining and developing successful marketing programs
  • Proven track record in leading and working effectively with cross functional teams dispersed across the globe and managing external agencies
  • Proven track record of building relationships and partnerships internally and externally
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence others for results
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and oral in English language.
