Position Overview

The Cinema team in Dolby is responsible for designing Dolby's professional products for Cinema Exhibition and post-production. You will work with new cutting-edge display and audio systems used in Cinema and Post-production. Bring your creativity and passion to help build the future of the cinematic entertainment experience.

We are seeking an Associate Full Stack Developer to join our Dolby Cinema Products team. The position will focus on the development of user interfaces for our next generation of products deployed in cinemas worldwide.

As an Associate Full Stack Web Developer you will be part of a dynamic international team with a record of success in building and shipping cinema products with web-based user interfaces. You will be working with other engineers of different disciplines, product managers, and a wide variety of world-class experts in cinema, audio, and imaging.

You'll conceive and build features and improvements for our next generation of Cinema products using the Laravel PHP framework and other technologies. You'll also work to maintain existing user interfaces built on other technologies, including Angular, Bootstrap, Node and LAMP.

Although Web user interfaces will be your primary focus, this is a true full-stack position, so you may have the opportunity to contribute with C++, Python, and Java from time-to-time.

This is a unique opportunity for an associate developer to join the world leader in making movies look and sound amazing. You will be based in a dedicated R&D facility in Indianapolis along with other software and hardware engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities
  • Active participant in the design and development of user interfaces for the next generation of cinema products from Dolby.
  • Maintenance and development of improvements for existing products.
  • Documentation of existing and implemented functionality.
  • Collaboration with other engineers and others across the company, which means across the world.
Requirements
  • High level written and verbal communication skills in both general and technology-specific applications.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to solve challenging problems.
  • Demonstrated experience with foundational web technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Solid understanding of Linux.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of the specific tech stack for your first assignment: Laravel Livewire, Redis No-SQL, SQLite.
  • Interest or experience in true full-stack development, from the Web to the backend or further, to the Linux drivers - or logic gates - that make everything happen.
  • Interest or experience in film exhibition, professional audio, or advanced imaging.
  • Written and spoken fluency and French and/or Polish.
  • Interest in making and shipping a product that you can brag about every time you and your family or friends attend a cinema.
Eligibility
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
The indianapolis, Indiana salary range for this full-time position is $87,200 - $116,600, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
