The Cast Experience team has responsibility for the capabilities that support a wide array of global systems for Human Resources, Financial Planning, Engineering Services, Industrial Engineering, Costuming and Creative Entertainment, Workforce Management, and Park Operations.

As Manager of Technology, you will be responsible for managing high-impact applications and services, emphasizing modernization, innovation, and scalability. You will oversee a diverse set of cloud-based and legacy applications, supporting global Cast experiences and Park Operations among other DX needs.  If selected for this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Cast Experiences.

What You Will Do

The position will include the following duties & accountabilities:

  • Technology Strategy & Modernization: Lead initiatives to modernize and rationalize technical debt across enterprise applications, by implementing reusability-focused and cost-effective platform-based solutions

  • Global Application Delivery: Oversee the delivery and geographic expansion of Cast experience platforms, ensuring scalability and inclusivity for global locations.

  • Portfolio & Project Development: Manage a high-profile project, ensuring alignment with business needs and timely delivery.

  • Team & Talent Development: Mentor and lead a cross-functional team of Cast Members and contractors, fostering a high-performing culture.

  • Budget & Financial Oversight: Manage a multi-million-dollar project, identifying cost-saving opportunities (e.g. retiring outdated platforms)

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams.  Communicate project roadmaps and results to executives and other stakeholders.

  • Operational Excellence: Champion best practices for Agile delivery, incident management, and system reliability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of progressively related experience in the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components. 

  • Demonstrated experience in Software Engineering Management

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile development practices.

  • An ability to lead endeavors across multiple timezones and locations. 

  • A background within on-hands development and delivery 

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, and partner with business and technology teams to define technical roadmaps and decisions 

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills 

  • Proven ability to manage resources & budgets for department portfolio. 

Desired Experience

  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, global technology initiatives.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in latest technologies (Cloud, Flutter, AI), application scalability, and enterprise integrations.

  • Experience management budgets and achieving significant cost savings through strategic technical decisions.

  • Familiarity with deployment and expansion of application portfolios to international regions with multi-language requirements.

  • Experience in Agile delivery and cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Ability to present complex technical concepts effectively to senior executives and diverse audiences.

  • Experience in Project Management, including tracking multiple concurrent projects against both timeline and budget.

  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include Scrum Master or equivalent.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
