Job Duties and Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager of Automation at Echostar, you will lead the strategy and implementation of automation frameworks across our public and private cloud environments. This role is critical to driving operational efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and ensuring consistent, reliable processes. As a key leader within the WCS team, you will oversee a team of automation engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, improve scalability, and support the organization's growth objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute an automation strategy aligned with WCS team goals.
  • Design and manage scalable automation frameworks for cloud infrastructure, configuration, and application deployment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and streamline operations using tools for cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Drive process improvements by reducing manual tasks, enhancing speed, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Stay updated on automation tools and practices, championing best practices and cloud-native solutions to enhance scalability and efficiency.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree; 15 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role within cloud computing or a related area
  • 12+ years of extensive experience with private and public cloud platforms, including architecture, automation, and management


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect)
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies
  • Familiarity with AI/ML services in the cloud and their application in driving business outcomes
  • Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, GDPR)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Innovative mindset, with a passion for exploring new technologies and driving continuous improvement
Salary Ranges

Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $181,500.00/Year
