Job Description:
D-PAS is Discover's EMV-compliant chip and payment terminal specification, the technology that drives card present transactions, speeding up acceptance and increasing security. D-PAS is being used by our partners within the transit industry to enable payments and solutions to enable access into transit systems.

The D-PAS Transit Product Manager is responsible for the success of deploying our D-PAS transit solutions across the globe. This person will be required to develop the D-PAS Transit product strategy, roadmap, and features, based on client and market needs. They will play a significant role in influencing our transit program strategy and implementation priorities as well as partnering with both our internal and external business partners to identify new opportunities
What You'll Do
- Assesses the performance of and shapes the structure and direction of new and existing product lines and leads the development and execution of strategic product plans for key initiatives such as the introduction of new products, product line extensions, or product enhancements. Accountable for achieving specific goals for each product, including evaluating product performance, and identifying innovations to address customer needs and improve product performance in the market.
- Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
How You'll Do It
- Develop and maintain D-PAS Transit product roadmap based on client needs, balancing risk, security and regulatory compliance.
- Manage product through the entirety of the life cycle.
- Monitor the industry to understand best practices, market trends, and identify new opportunities.
- Cultivate insights from our clients, vendors, and strategic partners to develop business requirements for product development.
- Work with development teams to develop and implement product requirements.
- Maintain and develop product guides to aid partners in developing and deploying products and services.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop materials to support the promotion of products.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional forums to communicate updates on the product strategy, progress and performance, including executive audiences.
- Partner closely with operations to ensure operational infrastructure and knowledge is in place to support market launches and scale products globally.
- Develop network policies to document the requirements and use of transit products and ensure that policies meet regulatory requirements.
- Create product dashboards to monitor product performance.
- Identify sources, monitor, analyze, and interpret key product performance metrics including financials, network volumes, other key statistics, and internal/external customer feedback trends, then develop and communicate findings, and make strategic and tactical recommendations for performance improvements.
- Define and execute strategic product road-maps to build new products, enhance existing products, or improve performance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies and methodologies to on-board new partners.
- Track and understand industry trends, research findings, and competitive innovations.
- Provide business analysis and reporting on a periodic basis.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop or support sales efforts or go-to-market strategies.
- Serve as Product Management business lead on cross-functional teams, including internal departments such as Sales, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Technology in the evaluation, development, management, and/or enhancement of assigned products and/or programs.
Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Social Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Communications or related field
- Experience in Product Management or Related
- In lieu of a degree, experience in Card payments, network, acquiring, issuing, mobile technologies, digital payments, or related including Product Management Experience

Bonus Points If You Have
- Master's Degree in Information Technology, Social Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Communications or related field
- Experience working as a product manager in the payments industry
- Knowledge of EMV specifications and how EMV transactions are processed.
- Understand the complete end-to-end card payment transaction processing including requirements to enable transactions conducted within the transit eco system.
- Market analysis capabilities.
- Problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at different leadership levels and departments.
- Experience managing projects.
- Proven successful experience managing full product development from conception to implementation.
- Ability to work with both business teams as well as development teams.
- Able to adapt to new challenges and overcome them to meet the team's goals.
- Have a curious mindset, willing to learn and understand the technical aspects of the product.
