About you
The Tax Governance and Technology Associate Director will supervise that SAP S/4 HANA implementation is successfully delivered with regard to tax and it will monitor that the tax digitalization, the governance and the control agenda of Global Tax is properly managed.

About the role
Diageo has desire to design a more effective, efficient and agile world class tax function capable of adapting to an increasingly challenging, connected and digital environment.
Also, the Company is embarking on a multi-year business transformation programme, Project Voyager, to redesign its global business processes enabled by the implementation of a new Digital Core.
As part of this transformation journey, Diageo will implement SAP S/4 HANA to create new digital business models and processes so the company can take the lead in the digital economy.
This role ensures that a global tax governance framework is operated to drive greater efficiency and effectives in our tax organization. In addition, it will lead the project of the SAP S/4 HANA implementation with regard to tax processes and systems and it will drive the tax digitalization and the control agenda of Global Tax.
This role will also play a key part in bolstering our tax data and analytics capabilities to ensure readiness for future compliance challenges.
- Ensure Diageo is well prepared for SAP 4 HANA regarding its tax operations and oversight is provided across all aspects of Tax for the implementation project team. Lead discussion with the project leads (external and internal) and ensure proper project management is provided by Global Tax which is aligned with the implementation team so an optimal system solutions is delivered on time.
- Ensure all tax processes are standardized to the extent possible building on SAP functionality, driving simplification and efficiency and improved tax control framework. To achieve this, drive continuous process improvement to drive effectiveness and efficiency and staying closing liked to external best practice.
- Drive tax transformation projects addressing digitalization requirements, process gaps and delivering mitigations and structural changes.
- Benefits realisation in terms of exposure to compliance risk as well as both effectiveness and efficiency targets.
What you'll bring
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience preferably with an oversight on Tax processes in an SSC and/or FMCG/Big 4 advisory environment,
- Strong expertise in SAP technology and procedures
- Qualified Accountant or ATT or equivalent tax qualification
- Excellent process improvement, governance and change leadership skills
- Strong Financial process understanding and experience at an operational level in tax dept.
- Experience of leading process change is desirable
- Experience with existing Governance methods, project management skills are desirable
- Strong pan cultural impact and influencing skills
- Proven ability to align multiple stakeholders
- Experience with data management/manipulation and technology/automation implementation is desirable
