About the role

- Full site operations accountability as the head of the site steering committee (SSC).

- Consists of tank farm, 1 keg line, 2 canning and 2 bottling lines

- Ops Manager ensures full end to end delivery from bulk beer in to packaged product out, linking with senior Source, Plan Make and Move leaders.

- Define and deliver the short and long term strategy for the site in partnership with the Beer Operations Director & the Beer Packaging Leadership team (ESC) - Leading all employees and partner organisations to deliver consistently brilliant performance in a very busy operation - the primary beer supply site for GB and multiple export markets.

- Ensure that the site operations are conducted safely and sustainably at all times, producing high quality products at competitive cost.

- Building the capability of the site workforce and partners to meet all current and future business needs

Key Accountabilities

- Direct reports made up of Area Managers, Training and Capability Manager, Project Manager, and Resource Planner, and overall responsible leader of circa 190 people which includes Operators ,Performance Improvement Leads and Engineers.

- Partners with Beer Packaging Governance, Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence and Scheduling Leaders and other team members across the supply chain to enable our 2030 ambition

- Leads the creation of the long- and short-term site strategy and master planning, driving the execution of this across all levels on site.

- Driving Improvement across all areas of the balanced scorecard (safety, quality, service, cost).

- Challenges and addresses poor performance and behaviours whilst championing performance and behavioural excellence in all roles and functions across site.

- Opportunity to transform how operations connects and influences across the business to ensure we prioritise optimised end to end solutions.

Excellence in Supply Chain

- Is experienced of working within the Performance Management structure of KPI's and Tier Review Meeting Structure and has a proven track record in adherence to Core Process and Standards

- Demonstrates role model behaviour and coaches' others to follow a consistent approach and go beyond required minimum requirements

Experience / skills required

- Inspirational and driven leader who is passionate about driving a high-performance culture, people development and a cultural change.

- A person who leads by coaching, guiding and supporting their teams to consistently deliver results, drive line manager capability and empower a culturally sensitive site.

- A leader with relentless appetite to foster a culture of continuous improvement using manufacturing excellence tools in every facet of what we do.

- A professional with high levels of resilience energy to focus and prioritise in a complex and demanding environment, where engagement is paramount to the success of this role.

- Someone who is highly data literate - can take data, analyse this to identify trends/issues/action areas and use this insight to drive commercially viable solutions.

- A person with the ability to negotiate and build strong working relationships with a unionized workforce.

- A champion of people management

Desirable

- Commercial understanding of production & supply chain management. Financially aware - Capex, Reliability & Maintenance

- Deep knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence, packaging, lean methodologies, process control and process improvement.
