About the role
The planning team is responsible for overall ownership of volume for shipment, production, and inventory from our Global Brands supply sites in Europe. We are a consistent face to all the Diageo markets and drive end-to-end value across the network. The role of the Supply Chain (Market) Planner is key point of contact for an assigned market to optimize the Market Supply (replenishment) plan for the full horizon.
The purpose of this role is to ensure right inventory at the right place at the right time for the specific market, keeping stock to norm.
Role Responsibilities
You will be the key point of contact between our supply sites and assigned market to optimise the supply network plan for the full horizon. The key dimensions of the role cover: Optimised replenishment plan. Inventory management, Market intelligence; S&OP process, Network configuration, and world class relationships. Key accountabilities include:
Optimised Replenishment Planning:
- Balance service (Case Fill Rate), volumes & inventory for the end-to-end network.
- Analyse supply shipment plans and manage exceptions based on business priorities.
- Maintain planning parameters and use RCPS to improve planning issues.
Inventory Management:
- Meet inventory targets for secondary & stock in transit for assigned markets.
- Balance product availability with cost minimization; resolve SLOBs.
- Review and validate primary stock levels with supply planners.
Market Intelligence & Analytics:
- Own and understand the demand signal (Shipment plan) for the full horizon.
- Create insights using analytics; interact with market contacts to gather intelligence.
- Challenge processes to provide optimal signals to supply planning.
S&OP:
- Play key role in Market Supply Review as part of the S&OP process; represent supply centres' response to demand signal.
- Contribute to Tactical Demand review with collected market intelligence from individual Market Supply reviews.
Network Configuration & Optimisation:
- Own supply network configuration for assigned market; ensure it is reflected in planning system (SAP APO & OMP).
- Partner with supply planning team/market; assess/evaluate impact of production batch sizes, cycle frequency, shipment MOQ on stock availability.
World Class Relationships & Communications - Key Stakeholders:
- Markets: Be main point of contact between supply centres/assigned Markets' supply chain including external customers/regional customer service teams.
- Lead planning improvement agenda with assigned market Supply Planners/Sites: Be Market Ambassador within Supply Chain.
Experience / skills required
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent Supply Chain / Analytical degree from a leading institution (APICS desirable).
- Several years of relevant, ‘End to End' Supply Chain planning experience with a proven track record including demand, supply network or production planning within a leading organisation.
- Strong internal and external networking, influencing & communication skills to manage relationships with markets & supply centres.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experienced user of a planning system (SAP APO / OMP preferred).
- Strong team player - Ability to coach and train peers.
- Strong proactivity and flexibility required.
