Context/Scope:
DBSI is a major shared services operations hub for Diageo plc. It primarily hosts the Global Business Operations function however other shared services teams such as Digital and Technology also have a presence in handles transactions across various world regions in a multicultural, and multi-language environment.
The Legal Manager role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic legal team and lead the exciting journey of setting up Legal agenda for DBSI entity.
Market Complexity:
DBSI has a truly global reach servicing virtually every market in Diageo, operating under a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) license. Main interactions will be with local DBSI leadership, the core support functions (procurement, facilities, HR, communications, business integrity, etc) and GBO. Relationships will also need to be developed with third party tax advisors and audit firms and CS.

Purpose of the Role:
The legal team is responsible for all legal matters of DBSI, incluing but not limited to:
Work Mix:
1. Company law and secretarial matters and compliance;
2. Contracts with suppliers (goods, general services, procurement, IT services, licensing);
3. Contracts with other group companies;
4. Dealing with data protection issues;
5. All aspects of HR;
6. Litigation;
7. Possible interaction with regulators / enforcing authorities
8. Supporting compliance investigations
9. Legal policies training and awareness
The role will report into Senior Counsel, Global Business Operations however day to day work will be supervised by AVP, Legal DBSI.

Qualifications and Experience Required
Law Graduate
PQE of 8+ years.in Legal/Counselor role in MNCs, Global environment.
Must have experience in the following below areas
- Contract and Commercial law- Negotiations and drafting
- Employment law
- Property law
Generalist role in a law firm or in-house with an IT, ITES, BPO or an Shared Services.
