About the Role
The Logistics Operations Team Leader is responsible for leading our Market Service teams, who deliver exceptional customer service on behalf of Global Brand Supply Scotland. The core focus is on the effective coaching & development of team members in delivering customer service to markets in a cost-effective, efficient, and compliant manner. A Logistics Operations Team Leader must be a champion for digitalisation, as we drive Diageo's supply chain towards a digital future. The role sits in the middle of our global supply operations, providing excellent opportunity of exposure to multiple business areas and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
- Coaching the team of Market Service Owners, responsible for service post-order entry to delivery to meet customer service requirements.
- Manage interactions between markets, planning and logistics partners to meet customer expectations.
Export Documentation
- Ensure the team delivers export documentation relating to orders in line with market requirements and compliance.
Carrier Liaison
- Effectively liaise with shipping lines on capacity, shipping instructions, documentation requirements, and issue resolution.
KPI Monitoring
- Monitor and record reasons for order failure to support KPI measures.
- Provide ownership for and input into corrective actions for misses, particularly order management adherence.
Digital implementation
- Support embedding digital tools within day-to-day operations, supporting teams with adoption to ensure success.
Productivity
- Ability to identify productivity & cost saving opportunities within logistics, delivering against stretching targets to ensure business value.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong people leadership skills demonstrating that team performance matters more than individual contribution. Direct team leader experience is required.
- Experience working in logistics, export or customer services
- Ability to build strong networks and relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Communicate efficiently
- Effective at managing multiple priorities and delivering against key business deadline.
