Capability Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic Capability Manager to join our team at Leven.
Leven is the largest packaging site in Europe and we continue to make significant investment in leading technology to embrace the packaging of the future, and the Capability Manager will be critical to embedding this change.
This role sits as part of the site leadership team and is pivotal to ensuring that we have the skills and capabilities to deliver our future strategy as we drive continuous improvement across site and step changes in sustainability, digital and automation.

The Capability Manager needs to leverage the skillsets and capabilities of our employees but also be connected to our wider business strategy to ensure we continue to update and elevate skillsets to manage future ambitions and requirements.
Some of the Key Accountabilities are
- Complete a regular gap analysis on the requirements of our future strategy vs our existing capabilities and propose solutions to the leadership team by understanding best practice, both internally and externally.
- Ensuring the site capability plan both current and future is driven brilliantly within budget. Report on the efficiency of spend by area.
- Ensuring skills matrices are kept up to date and have no gaps at any time.
- Supporting all people managers on site with analysis, sourcing delivery and evaluation of development activity.
- Ensuring all legislative training and policy requirements are fully met relating to Health&Safety, HMRC and License to operate.
- Making sure all New Starts /internal movers have a training plan identified and ready for them to commence their new role.
- Will be responsible for developing training and development efficiency indicators to supervise progress as well as differences between operational areas.
- Design, and where appropriate, deliver cost-effective Training and Development solutions and activities in conjunction with internal and external suppliers.
- Ensuring a high-performing capability team. Lead and coach direct reports to deliver sustainable performance improvement.
- Attending weekly reviews for different areas across the site to ensure the capability plan is tracked and measured regularly and leading the capability plan and data for those meetings.
About You
The ideal candidate will be determined with a passion for learning and development, able to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels and communicate effectively.
Experience of working in a challenging quality & customer focused FMCG/manufacturing or a similar environment.
With knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence tools/ Manufacturing Operations/ Packaging/ Lean Methodologies/ Process Control/ or Engineering Techniques.
Strong planning skills and the energy to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Able to deliver impactful training solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Excellent IT and data literacy skills, strong planning and coordination abilities, and the capability to manage and implement complex plans.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Well-developed coaching, training, and leadership capabilities.
An understanding of change management principles, combined with the ability to influence at all levels, is needed. We are looking for someone who is culturally sensitive and adaptable.
