Deloitte Consulting LLP, part of Deloitte US, a leader in implementing donor-led energy sector transformation programs globally, is seeking sector specialists to drive current and future field-based programs, with immediate opportunities in Southeast Asia. Deloitte has advised numerous donor-funded energy programs in the region, focusing on energy security through indigenous resources like solar, wind, hydroelectric power, and natural gas, as well as enabling policy reforms and private sector engagement. We are seeking an experienced professional(s) with strong sector expertise and demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities leading to demonstrated results. S/he will provide technical input and guidance for programs and activities that work with government agencies to advance energy security while fostering private sector partnerships and market development. The Advisor may engage directly with country governments to guide delivery to align with both international energy standards and client goals, promoting energy independence and resiliency, economic growth, and job creation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input and guidance across program activities and deliverables, while actively developing and strengthening relationships with key government and private sector counterparts.
  • Inform and enhance decision-making and action through active engagement and developing buy-ins for various activities. Work within and engage with stakeholders to support alignment between programming and organizational goals.
  • Manage and maintain strong coordination between and across staff and the various government counterparts to achieve client objectives.
  • Provide technical inputs to cross-cutting activities, including oversight of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning to report on results, as well as for communication to government counterparts and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support private sector engagement within the energy sector.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of experience in energy and climate
  • Ability to travel up to 100% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve in Southeast Asia.
  • Must also have valid work authorization for the country where you will be working, and to the extent required by such country's laws and regulations.
  • Provide Deloitte documentation verifying your identity and employment authorization.
  • This role is based in Southeast Asia and applicants must be located in the area or willing to relocate.
  • In-country experience producing demonstrated reforms, investment, and results in international markets with experience in Southeast Asia strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in diverse areas including energy sector planning, enhancing industrial energy efficiency, advancing indigenous energy resilience, optimizing electricity markets, and developing pragmatic strategies for carbon market participation and decarbonization.
  • Deep understanding of the energy sector reform and policy development process including in Southeast Asia.
  • Bachelor's degree in Energy Policy, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and project management skills.
  • Minimum 10-years of experience in power systems, transaction support, investment, or energy sector regulation.

Preferred

  • Prior experience with international projects is preferred.
  • Fluency in English with advanced written and verbal communication skills; local language skills are highly valued.
  • Advanced Degree preferred.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $161,000 to $268,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
