We are seeking a results driven leader to drive the growth of our North American distribution channels. The Strategy & Partnerships VP for North America will be accountable for defining and ensuring execution of the strategy of the company in North America, and lead commercial partnerships in coordination the Sales team, supported by Business Units and marketing teams.
The role will work cross functionally and provide coaching and development activities for the sales team necessary to ensure execution of plans. Execution of the growth strategies will occur through the NAM Sales Vice Presidents and Business Units Vice Presidents to achieve profitable business relationships and identify new revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Lead the company strategic planning for North America, from definition to execution.
- Growth Strategy: Define and implement, in coordination with the Business Units and the Marketing & Sales organization, ad-hoc growth strategies leveraging market insights and innovative approaches to drive business expansion and enhance competitive positioning.
- Partnerships: Lead the definition of go to market partnerships, and partner with NAM Sales organization to ensure successful execution.
- Market Analysis: work with the marketing team to conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the energy sector. Use this information to inform strategic decisions and initiatives.
- Innovation Leadership: Drive innovation within the organization by identifying new technologies and business models that can enhance competitive positioning and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, consultants to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of strategic initiatives and partnerships. Adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with strategic initiatives and partnerships, and develop mitigation plans to address these risks.
- Part of the North American management team.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years applicable experience including several years in strategy, partnership, marketing and/or sales roles.
- Proven experience and track record in defining and executing growth strategies , both traditional and innovative, on topics including portfolio, digital, service, new business models, go-to-market, and footprint.
- Demonstrated success in defining and executing strategic partnerships, from definition of the strategy and concept, to engagement with external executive stakeholders, and management of the partnership during its life cycle.
- Ability to navigate with ease from macro trends analysis to rigorous execution or strategies and partnership at the operational level.
- Experience in leading rigorous market analysis to feed strategies.
- Industry Expertise a plus: deep understanding of the energy industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and emerging trends.
- Technical Knowledge a plus: latest technologies and innovations in the energy sector, such as renewable energy, smart grids, and energy storage solutions
- Global Perspective: experience working in a global or multinational environment, with the ability to navigate cultural differences and manage cross-border projects.
- Change Management experience a plus: experience in leading organizational change initiatives, with a focus on driving cultural transformation and fostering a growth mindset.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various departments to achieve strategic goals.
- Proven ability to drive collaboration across teams not directly within reporting structure.
- Strong organizational, planning and communication skills including senior management communication.
- Experience working with indirect channels would be highly desirable.
- Proven team leadership skills.
- Must be skilled at selling compelling, integrated strategies to internal and external stakeholders..
- Should be customer centric, solutions focused, articulate and comfortable building relationships at executive levels.
- Travel: This role requires 50% travel within North America.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
