GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Performs specialized and diversified purchasing functions required to supply materials in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures; using reasonable pricing, ensuring quality goods delivered on-time to support maximum value through inventory control and laboratory operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee lab-wide Purchasing function:

  • Ensure accurate fulfillment of ongoing purchasing needs and continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects of DaVita Labs.
  • Interpret and make decisions through data collection and spend analysis.
  • Leverage technology to analyze data and provide in-depth analysis needed to support services within the business to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Prepare presentations related to key performance metrics, program updates, and vendor management.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem solving and ability to make decisions.
  • Work effectively across multi-functional teams to develop relationships, facilitate effective team interactions, and to foster a positive work environment; willingness to assist teammates in order to achieve departmental goals.

  • Examine purchasing and inventory levels to maintain healthy supply.
  • Develop regular reporting that provides insight, identifies opportunities, and delivers solutions.
  • Evaluate business for expiring product and mitigate potential write-offs.
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials, supplies and equipment per DaVita Labs policies.
  • Proactively address business continuity issues or any inventory/supplier concerns.
  • Keep Sr. Leadership informed on all active business and operational issues.
  • Contribute during supplier negotiations, benchmarking, and price analysis.
Provide effective leadership to all direct reports:
  • Direct and develop teammates creating a dynamic and flexible environment.
  • Coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring and appraising job results through continuous metric outcomes.
  • Maintain and manage direct report timecards within Kronos.
  • Identify and develop training opportunities.
  • Help direct reports overcome any professional or organizational obstacles.
  • Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to DaVita teammates employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment.
  • Facilitate teammate development (Elevate, coaching, mentoring, training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2-4years experience required
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or related field - preferred
  • Purchasing or Certifications a plus
  • 2-4 years of indirect or direct sourcing responsibility required; Experience with laboratory strategic sourcing - required
  • Microsoft SQL and Crystal report - preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have experience analyzing data
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, strong organization skills.
