This remote based Clinical Policy and Procedure Manager position collaborates with the Clinical Policies and Procedures work groups/subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and maintain clinical policies and procedures that meet all OSHA, CMS, AAMI, Federal, State and local regulations and requirements for DaVita's dialysis facilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Currently this manager role has no direct reports, but it may include supervising direct reports in the future.

  • Maintain current knowledge of medical research and clinical practice data to facilitate the development and ongoing review of related clinical policies and procedures to ensure that they remain current and are based on appropriate and safe clinical practice
    • Maintain applicable research data and background information to support developed policies and procedures
  • Submit and maintain draft clinical policies and procedures for review and relay comments to the appropriate work group/SMEs for approval
  • Function as the clinical writer for all clinical policy and procedure work groups
  • Provide supportive documentation and background information to the Clinical Policy & Procedure work groups relative to issues under review
  • Maintain electronic copies of all current and archived policies and procedures; provide applicable clinical policies and procedures as needed for legal purposes
  • Ensure that established review and approval processes for draft documents are followed and feedback is relayed to the relevant work group
  • Organize, support, and/or lead Clinical Policy and Procedure Oversight Committee Meetings and provide appropriate follow up to persons requesting facility specific P&P.
  • Collaborate with and provide documents to designated teammates for creation of training materials including online courses and P&P training summaries
  • Obtain Risk and Compliance approval of Clinical Policy and Procedure prior to release to the field
  • Coordinate the availability of electronic and printed Clinical Policies and Procedures for DaVita teammates.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Clinical Education to facilitate training and implementation of new and revised clinical policies and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned including but not limited to:
    • Attend or lead team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
    • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidance, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Travel required: up to 10%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)
  • Associated Degree in Nursing or higher from accredited school of nursing or three-year diploma from accredited diploma program required, BSN preferred
  • Current RN license in state of practice required
  • CNN or CDN required within one year of hire or position change
  • Minimum of three (3) years' nephrology nursing experience required
  • Experience in writing, updating, and maintaining clinical policies and procedures preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required

    • Strong understanding of clinical process with the ability to translate requirements into clinical policies and procedures and deliver requested output timely and accurately
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing and evolving work environment with shifting time frames
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English with clarity of expression sufficient to communicate technical and complex concepts verbally and in writing to teammates in clear and easily understandable terms required
  • Ability to understand clinical/medical vocabulary written or spoken in English required
