This Underwriting Analyst role is for Meritain Health within the Business Analysis Team. We are an independent subsidiary of Aetna and CVS, and one of the nation's largest employee benefits administrators. We have the resources of a national carrier coupled with the unique flexibility and devoted service of a third-party administrator (TPA). The Meritain Health Business Analysis Team supports the attainment of organizational goals through the issuance of prospective and existing business quotations and proposals as well as consulting on unique business requests and margin analysis. This underwriting analysis performs cost analysis and risk assessment for National Account cases that includes the following tasks:

- Evaluate and analyze factors to determine appropriate products, services, and fees for clients in partnership with Sales and Client Management to ensure business profitability, client needs, and to reduce the total cost of care.
- Review supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness while adhering to company guidelines and SME feedback.
- Prepares and issues quotations and financial deliverables for prospective and existing business while meeting established departmental KPIs.
- Actively participating in RFP strategy calls, contributing insights, and subsequently analyzing the discussed options to develop pricing and strategic approaches aligned with the sales strategy.
- Manages, interprets, and transforms operational and financial data into analysis providing consultation and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides guidance on pricing strategies and exception-based pricing.
- Works with leaders from key functional areas to understand potential financial impact on the organization, align project work, and execute activities accordingly.
- Develops and participates in presentation and consultation to existing and prospective customers, business partners and internal business areas on information services, capabilities, and performance results.
- Sources data from multiple platforms to provide business with a clear picture of actual performance and profitability.
- Determines program viability, market access opportunity, overall revenue successes and gaps, cost trending, and trend shifts.
- Provide ongoing financial modeling and analysis to business partners.
- Evaluate and analyze the financial impact of key business strategies.
- 2 years of data interpretation and analysis experience
- 2 years of project, program, or process management experience
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations
- Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings and results effectively
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Foundational medical underwriting skills
- Self-funded Insurance or Third Party Administrator (TPA) experience
- Experience with Salesforce

The typical pay range for this role is:$46,988.00 - $102,000.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
