We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud/Java Staff Software Development Engineer to join our team focused on building systems into a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform hosted on Cloud Platform (Azure/GCP).As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing microservices that drive the state-of-the art Pharmacy Services - Claim Processing Application. You will work on integrating cloud-native solutions, enhancing performance, and ensuring seamless operation within a highly scalable and secure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development and frontend development, system design, and a strong understanding of cloud-native software engineering principles.*Preference is for candidates to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Richardson, TX; remote will be considered for candidates not in close proximity to an office.   • Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Developing responsive and interactive web applications using Angular framework.
  • Collaborating with UX/UI designers and backend developers to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions
  • Conducting code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Optimizing frontend performance and user experience.
  • Design and implement solutions deployed on Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Managing cloud resources, monitoring performance, and optimizing costs and Ensuring security and compliance of cloud-based applications and services.
  • Work with distributed systems, Confluent Kafka (or similar pub/sub tools)
  • Collaborate with teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
  • Communicating effectively to stakeholders about project status, technical challenges, and solutions.
  • Ensure high performance and reliability through sound software engineering practices
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to the frontend engineering team
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with Java programming and related frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in Angular framework and frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (Azure/Google Cloud)
  • 3+ years working with pub/sub tools like Kafka or similar
  • 3+ years of experience with database design/development (Postgres or similar)
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, or similar)
  • Strong programming skills in Java and experience with related back end frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, etc.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Platform (GCP/Azure)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts
  • Strong understanding of microservice best practices and distributed systems
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
